Got an order set for market open. If it dips closer to 30 I’ll buy more.

I'll look into both now, but I meant ELVA.

Bit the bullet on my MRLN losses and dumped what I had into OUST at $31.55.

Sold my 216 shares of OUST at a loss between 31-32 to go long on $40 Jan calls. Bought 7 at 8.41 avg.

Now worth 9.20
Up 9%

Spent the rest on a ELVA starter position.

Edit: This is super bullish.
The other half of the OUST postion remains in a brokerage and will be left untouched, like NBIS.

Can you explain this strategy a bit more? Is there more upside with the calls versus holding the shares?

I know. I was just asking which is preferred. Fundamentals look better for ELVA, but with these type companies, its going to come down to who signs the big deal first.

Yes. The calls move more on a rebound.

Above, I explained how I did this on a dip earlier this week.
This is essentially how I lost my whole arse on NBIS last fall, but that's because I thought I was invincible and my moves were much more wreckless.
Exchaning shares for calls that expire in 7 months and 19 months (what I did this week) provides more room for error than exchaning shares for calls that expire in 2-4 weeks.

Real life example:
I sold 600 shares of OUST earlier this week at a slight loss around $25.
That freed up 15k
I bought 10 $30 strike 1/15/2027 calls for 7.23 each ($7,230)
Even on this shitty day, those calls are now worth $12, which is 66% gains, while the common shares or stock itself is up about 30% since Monday or whenever that was.

I also bought 5 $25 strike Jan 2028 calls at 13.06 per contract.
Those are 18.80 right now. Ideally, these will be worth $40 by end of the year.

It's riskier than holding shares, but with the options selected, which were only slightly out of the money and in the money ($25), it wasn't an absurd move.

Since writing the calls are now 12.60 and 19.75

What's the play here?

Well, now I can buy nearly 900 shares of OUST while I only had 600.

Could also have gone the otherway on negative news but glad the play worked out well for you

Gotcha. You are leveraging leaps versus short dated calls that’s more aggressive.

Thank you sir to the explanation.

Can you imagine where we would be if we had employed the current strategy with NBIS in November? July '27 options instead of December?

I think we both thought that Q3 earnings would save us. As great as they were, the market didn't give a single frick

I remember listening to that earnings report and thinking, "Hell, yeah!". The market proceeded to piss all over that great earnings report.
