We'll find out if that's true or not on June 3rd.

I actually don't expect too much on June 3rd, as it will be just more preannouncements, but remind me in 1 yr to all the IOTA haters.

Agree that June 3rd will be more of a roadmap than anything functional. It will be interesting to see how the "weak longs" that are expecting Q to be the second coming of christ will handle this considering all of the hype and delays since December. The price action before and after will be interesting to watch.

ETH went on a sweet little run to bring it back over 700. It's .083 BTC now.

That is the counter argument.

People argue crypto has no inherent value. Gold/USD doesn't either.

The "unlimited supply" argument is made by those who don't understand the tech or crypto space. Further, the USD is basically unlimited too as we just print more of it every day.

Nothing you said is a counter. You admit the govt prints money out of thin air but it's okay because they decide when to print money out of thin air.

Tigerdroppingd making its own coin doesn't mean anything. People can use it or not. Creation of other coins does not directly impact the value of existing coins unless they do something an existing coin does better. Comparing btc to ethereum tells me you are very ignorant about the space. I suggest you learn about the tech and come back.

That was actually good advice. Go to YouTube and search "What is blockchain?." Then think about whether that type of technology has legitimate use cases. You very obviously have some preconceived notions...go see if you're right.

What's the counter to the argument that Crypto is similar to gold in that it has no inherent value, and even worse, there is an unlimited supply of it - meaning someone can issue TigerdroppingsCoins tomorrow and it becomes the latest fad.
Currency innovates toward efficiency of exchange.

Currency began as barter. A chicken for your wheat or whatever. Then pretty rocks or metal for your wheat. Then gold backed paper notes. Then checks. Then plain fiat. Then credit cards. Then prepaid cards and debit cards.

That has been the evolutionary path of value exchange.

Currency innovates toward efficiency and crypto is the next efficiency gain.

Think about cash money. Just little pieces of paper. This one says $1. That one says $5 or $20. And they are all pieces of paper. And they are all just an illusion of value. It’s just paper with printing on it.

So currency is a shared illusion that we all agree on. It’s just pieces of paper. And that illusion is transitioning into the crypto currencies. And the reason it is, is because of efficiency of exchange.

Trustless exchange is the bonus especially with decentralized and mathematically limited issue cryptos.

Literally he needs to just google "what does ethereum do".

There's simply no discussing crypto with someone without even a rudimentary understanding of how it works. I'm not even trying to get out of the argument. It's just pointless. Like trying to argue about the best defense in the NFL with someone who thinks baseball and football are the same because they have balls

Bitcoin and ETH have nothing in common besides the fact that they are both crypto. One is strictly a currency, the other is a platform for decentralized app development

ETA: You probably think all coins have the same exact purpose of being a currency. Take the advice of the others and learn what the various coins do and the blockchain they are associated with
