Your retort saying money is made out of cotton is about as relevant as hillary's "like with a cloth?" statement when inquired about wiping her servers.
You are ignorant and also not engaging in discussion in good faith. You have no desire to learn. Move on. I'm glad people like you exist because it means we are still in the early adoption phase.

He has to be trolling. I have no interest in discussing crypto with someone who thinks that Bitcoin is the same as every other cryptocurrency.
It's not just crypto...in general I'm astounded how so many people will argue about shite they have no clue about. It's not a discussion if the other party has to teach you everything about the subject being discussed first.

Obviously
Demanding others do the work for him, while having this pretentious attitude on the information given by few that bite. Oh well, others will feed the troll

Desperate deflection from the issue because you can't hang in there on the discussion.
No denial, because you realize how pathetic it is that you would somehow think its savvy to upvote your own post.
There is no discussion here dude, get over yourself

the value is in the distributed ledger tech and not the "branded" crypto coin
You have an air gap in your knowledge whereby you need to spend at least half a year growing your understanding of the synergy required to create a crypto currency, the distributed ledger technology it rides on, the incentives for miners to both mine the crypto and support the transactions to strengthen and grow the network, and how to create a demand for a crypto in a potential customer base. Along with solid, tight code to limit attack surfaces the hackers will seek.
Sure you can try to create a Tigerdroppings Coin. But if the world doesn’t give a shite about it, its Total Market Cap won’t even be worth my annual TD premium membership fees.
Now can you have an initial coin offering (ICO) for Tigerdroppings Coin to raise seed capital or as a scam? Sure! But like half of ICO’s last year, they are gone or worthless.
This is why you should do your own research. Find a project with a real world use, investigate the team and buy their token or coin if it makes sense to you.
But to look for a direct comparison with All Crypto to precious metals or tulips or for an intrinsic value is a naive and shallow approach. Crypto is not designed to be hammered out into jewelry or the make your garden pretty.
But the currency side of it, is a more efficient means of exchange and the distributed ledger tech side of it is quite valuable for business use and will change how things get done.
And together, they remove the need for a sovereign nation to control money. And make no mistake, they will try to control the money but the genie is out of the bottle and we are gradually heading to the day where places you do business, will ask if you have some other form of payment than USD.
So if Bitcoin is currently the most popular illusion of value in the crypto sphere and only 3%-4% of people even own any and Coinbase says demand for new accounts is greater than ever, why not get in front of the adoption and manipulators to ride the wave as they blow up this asset class?
It is a whole ecosystem that was not possible without the internet. Educate yourself about the whole structure being built. The internet was the exchange of information revolution. Cryptos and Blockchain are the exchange of values revolution. Together they are eating the old financial system’s money. And I’m hungry.
People you know will be buying BTC for $100K. It’s time to get excited.

Your response to me showed me nothing about my point of Bitcoin and Ethereum being different. Good try though

holy shite this is a pretty obnoxious money board troll job with so many hooks in it.

It’s sad to see people have pre-conceived notions about cryptocurrency and blockchain tech due to Bitcoin. They then form their opinions based around that negative belief about Bitcoin and then dismiss all blockchain tech.
You’re 100% spot on. We are very much still in early adoption phase. Be thankful we have skeptics, I guess.

to me this is all about adoption of platforms that can exchange across asset types easily. essentially mixing the best features of bartering and fiat currency at a very simplistic level

Ehhh.
What else is new?
The greatest chance of gain goes hand in hand with the greatest risk.
Know your projects. Vet your participants. Know your risk tolerance. And watch your stuff closely.
It’s the Wild Wild West. Good luck!

Looks like we've got confirmation of a prolonged bear market. Btc will probably fall to 7k
