I thought btc would be the store of value/currency and eth would be more for developing technologies to use. Don't really understand why or how either work.

Also I thought Walgreens has CVS, Mcdonalds has Burger King, Target has Walmart.

I'd bet you make more from buying Eth this bull than BTC. (Just like eth outgained BTC last bull).

Happy for you.

I myself am looking for an education here. What real world problem is being solved using ETH?

ETH would be like the internet. Websites are built on the internet. Endless possibilities. ETH is the skeleton that the websites (other alt coins) are built on. ETH competitors are out there because the ETH network is outdated. There are other "Internets" that are newer and are faster and cheaper to move items. But ETH is upgrading to "Layer 2" ETH to fix these problems.

This cycle will be the cycle of AI coins that do things automated on the ETH Layer 2 network. Just like the internet, the possibilities are quite endless.

Edit: BASE ETH is one of the Layer 2 upgrades being built. I prefer it. It was funded by Coinbase. There are other Layer 2 options out there.

How about not having your currency debased based on poltical climates.

Is this a good example?

I mean at the fundamental level the major driver is a financial intrument that is free from being debased by governments.

BTC does this as well, but in a different way, but ETH is much much more usuable in an "everyday" type way.

However, this is the message one would need to understand 1st IMO.

What does ETH do on a daily basis? It has a geek in charge who changes the rules every few years. It's a JOKE.

That's incorrect.

Ethereum was conceived by VB, but he does not run it. He's basically a PR person at this point. He can not change anything. It is run on community consensus. Upgrades (many of which have been on the roadmap since day 1) are brought up and voted on. Updates are then coded, tested on multiple test nets, and then rolled out to mainnet, at which point the larger community has the choice to upgrade or not. If the majority do not see it as being a good thing, then the protocol does not change.

A huge benefit of Bitcoin is that it is nigh impossible to change.
A huge benefit of Ethereum is that it can be changed.

I'm in a delima with my Doge. I'm way up and feel like I need to sell.

Told myself that I need to sell if it gets around .25 and rebuy if it drops back around .10.

Thinking now I might sell half and use what I sell to rebuy if it drops.

Torn on what to do for the usual reasons of "what if this jumps back up to .70 and I'll be kicking myself for selling."

In hindsight, buying dodge under .10 was so so obvious. just buy and wait for the next pump lol

Almost every alt will 7x-10x from where it is right now; some are in varying stages, but that’s where we are in this cycle currently.

Unless you have some buy and sell orders on an exchange, you wont get .10 again. I'm reevaluating at .50 but I think this is going to 1.00 min

according to an article on cointelegraph, options worth 134k BTC (over 9 billion dollars at 70k) is set to expire on Friday.

The max pain price is 50k. Looking at the graph, almost all the puts are going to expire worthless if we close the week at 70k.

Im not sure I’ve seen puts get completely fricked in the crypto market like this before.

Sell your initial investment plus a little more. You don't have to get completely out.

I've heard that before.

Maybe you're right and I hope you're right because even selling half, if it shoots back up to .70, I'll be a happy camper. But, it's constantly up and down, I personally don't see it consistently staying .20+.
