I only started looking at crypto back in March.. don't take me seriously, especially for any technical analysis.
I feel like the bear is here, and we'll probably continue to drop over time for a while. We're just in the early stages.
I have zero technical reasons or indicators for believing any of this and am incorrect more often than correct; it's just a gut feeling based upon sentiment and the way the market's been behaving. Nobody knows a bear market is here until it's too late, there's always positive 'BUT IT'S GONNA MOON SOON" sentiment until it drops so much that people flip from "IT'S GONNA MOON SOON" to "CRYPTO IS FAKE MONEY, WORTHLESS, USELESS. ITS NEVER GOING TO RECOVER".
We haven't hit that kind of hopelessness yet, and, with the level of institutional adoption that's been occurring the bear may not be as bad as previous bears.

The fact that with trading volumes are at all times lows and staying above 30k is bullish to me.
This means, in my view, much of the retail that got in at ATH’s and got liquidated out will start to play again soon and with the ETFs and means for your more traditional investor to start getting in, I only see upside.
Even if we retest something in the 20’s, I’m still bullish from 2-3 months and obviously 5+ years.
Then again, all I chase now is yield.

One of the guys who created Doge saying he's gotten out of crypto and basically thinks 'tis all a scam. Can't really argue with many of his assertions about the overall market though I'm still optimistic long term.
SIAP. Thought is was an interesting clash of perspectives and obviously written as a rebuke of that billionaire dude who likes dogs.

Well, yeah. Doge is/was a scam. They told everyone that from the beginning

I'd probably feel guilty if a joke product I started was manipulated by billionaires to fleece the gullible, but I didn't create a joke product, and I'm a hardcore capitalist, so I don't agree with most of his statement. I do partially agree with:
quote:
Despite claims of “decentralization”, the cryptocurrency industry is controlled by a powerful cartel of wealthy figures who, with time, have evolved to incorporate many of the same institutions tied to the existing centralized financial system they supposedly set out to replace.

Eh. Volume spiking when we got to 30k would be bullish. Slow bleeds on alts while btc just holds on 30k means people are selling alts and funneling back into btc.
Btc may sit around 30k as a floor until it takes back 60% market dominance.

My USDC allocation has nearly doubled for all the wrong reasons.

You’re learning.
The market won’t quit dipping until people think the world is ending and hope is lost.
It’s called “capitulation” for a reason.

Maybe a moderate boost with this conference on Wednesday if Elon provides some bullish quotes? We know Cathy and Jack are always bullish.
Hopefully enough to get it to 34-36 again so everyone can sell and buy back at 31. That seems to be the thing now.

we have held 30k so far in the face of the GBTC unlocks
I’m not happy about where the market is but I’m not ready to give up on the chance of a recovery yet. I’ve mentally accepted the market is probably more likely to tank, however; and it’s time to just focus on accumulation for the next cycle.

The good news is if we are in a bear, we are three months into it already!

Loaded up on more ETH when it went under $1800.

Am I the only one who still thinks we hit new all time highs in 2021? Bunch of debbie downers in here.

there is a chance people could get air gapped on the next run up while waiting on the 2024 halving

It's gonna be shitty when I have to look my wife in the eye and tell her we're upside down bad, but:
I believe in this space, just gotta get average costs down in the bear market.

Im a newbie too but I put a decent amount in when BTC was 17K and ETH was 500. I also put a decent amount in when BTC was at 55k
I'll be around break-even if BTC hits 27K. Im in it for long term though, although I have opened a separate portfolio on CBP to trade with.
