We are only a few mil away from sub 20m volume for btc on binance.us.

It floated around 60-100m most days and peaked at 150-180m during high volume runs.

This is the lowest it’s been since the bull run started.

I view this as a positive. Staying above 30K and low volume? How is this not positive with natural forward momentum?

Bear markets climb in low volume and drop in high volume. Pretty much what happened Thursday and now Friday/Saturday.

blockchains are intended to be immutable. re-orging defeats this purpose.

it would bring the entire ethereum ecosystem into question if this were to happen even once.

That sent me down a rabbit hole of difficult-to-understand tweets from EdgarArout (tagged in that post). That does look bad, but sounds like maybe the vulnerability they're working to exploit is fixed in ETH2...if so, it becomes a race to implement and take off vs PoS implementation (not sure betting on ETH2 timeline is a great idea lol)

Seems to me like the hashing power required to reorg and re-mine blocks before concensus mechanism catches it would be difficult to accomplish.

Definitely a situation to monitor.

Probably why eth 2.0 keeps getting delayed. There isn’t a lot of room for error with this sort of stuff.

Likely why Bitcoin is the granddaddy. Bitcoin is what it is.

Cointelegraph (lol) has an article up saying options market has about a 10% chance for 100k btc by dec 31st.

Higher than I thought tbh.

For sure.

The social layer is going to be in play. If enough people say "wait..This is bad for everyone. Let's not do this" then maybe they don't get enough hashing power to accomplish it.

However, considering miners are currently pissed off at EIP-1559........

I realllllly want to get rid of the ETH I have left...but the cap gains taxes would be awful considering the remaining are sitting at a $200 cost basis

Could be true but in my experience, any “rumor” buzzing like that on Twitter is:

1. beyond old news

Or

2. Absolutely not happening
