so you guys know how the DoJ said they recovered like 2m of the btc from the pipeline ransomware?

I was really curious how this happened.

apparently it was seized from a coinbase address.

imagine hacking one of the most important US pipelines and then trying to launder the money through what is essentially a branch of the IRS

god damn

This doesn't smell right honestly.

But...if they really did use coinbase? Well, I've said it a million times...not your keys, not your coins.

yea that story just doesn't make much sense to me

sophisticated enough for an elaborate ransomware hack but then store the coins on a coinbase wallet?

I would suspect colonial bought and sold through coinbasep and sent the money to some sort of escrow vendor. Not sure why darksidd wouldn't have moved the money somewhere offline.

Will be fun to watch the reddit autist track through this. FBI was smart enough to not list the actual address. I suspect it was always one of their addresses.

I mean, this is the same group that sold guns to drug cartels.

You know the autists are balls deep in the ledger data right now. I agree, should be fun to watch them track it.

I thought the Colonial thing was odd, but now that the FBI “seized bitcoin” and that’s what the media is running with is icing on the cake of a WTF is going on event

Seems like a retest of $30k is inevitable at this point

The wedge appears it has broken to the downside. Hopefully convincingly. I’m ready to load up again.

It’s getting close enough for me. I don’t need the exact bottom, I just need to keep on winning. Every buy is tough for me since my cost basis is below 2000. But if it looks like it breaches or flirts with sub 30K, I’ll probably buy 1 BTC at that level and then watch for a bit. Need to use TA constantly before making the decision though. But once I pull the trigger, I don’t much worry about it.

On the trading side I’ve been inactive recently. Seems counter intuitive since there is a boatload of opportunity, but I’m just not feeling good about short term trading right now.

Closing a 1d candle below 35k was my personal indicator. The good news is the “range” for an upward break out has shifted down.

The bad news is this made a 30k retest very likely.

Tempting to do a big buy if we break 30k but like everyone else there’s an element of “well how low can it really go?”
