whats the significance? strictly hypothetically am i still going to jail for skipping taxes or no?

Meaning the SEC can still decide to try and sue someone for selling Eth or BTC as unregistered securities. It seems they are saying Vitalik or the Ethereum Foundation aren't safe. I don't know who they could go after with BTC since Satoshi's identity isn't known.

theyve wildly been outperformed by us plebs buying crypto

regardless, what happens to the bond market once everyone realizes there is a superior global asset class that is more liquid?

you should be telling your fiat clients to hedge a percentage of their portfolios just out of principle that this possibility exists

With income tax and penalties, you think it would be worth it? That's what I'm going back and forth on

That’s really the main reason I’m not. Don’t feel like dealing with the tax and penalty nightmare. I’m a pretty conservative investor at heart so I’m also leaving my 401k in traditional investments as a worst case scenario should something go way wrong in the crypto space. I know I’m missing out on exponential gains by doing so though.

Same, trying to balance peace of mind with risk on gains. Still considering going all in though...

Fed prints money directly and prints it to buy treasury bonds that nobody wants because the interest rate sucks, and this keeps interest rates down while raining down more helicopter money.

It’s the greatest scam in history and is going to end in max pain for those who weren’t prepared. The only question is how long they can keep the party going

Artificially keeping interest rates low seems itself unsustainable long term

But lowering the interest rates further along with directly printing money into the economy, creating inflationary fears... both of these reduce demand for treasury bonds and cripple the US ability to raise capital through any means other than printing more money to buy up these crap bonds

It’s a positive feedback loop and it’s going to blow up unless someone dampens it with fiscal responsibility, raises interest rates substantially, stops printing excessive money, and assumes the short term pain of the stock market getting hurt for the long term viability of the dollar.

I don’t have that kind of faith in politicians. I’m sticking with my bet on a non-sovereign store of value in crypto because I think they are going to debase the frick out of the USD and all fiat currencies

I've moved 80% of my free cash and all new investment money to crypto. (Not counting 401K matching).

My biggest issue is being able to liquidate and spend. Really hoping these apps get the USDC/Visa cards going.
