im probably in the minority viewpoint that your coins are safe on these exchanges. however, the popular phrase is, "not your keys, not your coins" so a lot of others suggest taking your coins off of them. if coinbase were hacked, they do have insurance and im assuming voyager does as well. so in my eyes, leaving your keys on them is safer for a lot of people.
Currently have the majority off the exchanges, but I’m not moving any more to the cold wallet and will eventually DCA my way on to the majority being on a hot wallet.
Call the cold wallet insurance against Uncle Sam or an exchange getting hacked.

I’ve always wondered about the so called insurance these companies have. What does the insurance cover, the company’s losses or their customers losses? Is it confirmed or stated anywhere that insurance covers the customer? If so, I’d feel much better about leaving on exchanges. I just haven’t seen that explicitly stated that the customer coins are covered by their insurance.

on coinbase, they cover any "hack" to the hot wallet. most of their coins are stored on a cold wallet though. they obviously don't cover human error (like a stolen password or whatever)
I'm not sure about voyager.

Yea Coinbase is the one I would trust the most out of all of them. That’s where I have my dad storing his bc lol at him using a cold storage wallet. To your point, he’s much more likely to lose his coins if he screwed around with cold storage

yea def
one of my bigger fears is getting a newb setup and then once they try to transfer to a cold wallet, they end up fricking up and losing everything and then calling off bitcoin/crypto forever.

Does anyone use lightning network for cash atms when they travel? Is the transaction faster?
Zap/Strike looks to be well thought out.

Have y'all checked out pancakeswap farms and LPs? They are difficult to get started, but APRs are insane.
Anyone know how risky these are?
Any time the Apr is higher than comparable returns across the board I avoid. Memories of all the people in BTR investing with Stanford Group CDs and their stupid high "returns" reminds me to be careful.

You can boost your yield with alphahomara leverage too

I thought they only covered it if it’s cash or usdc or tether. I didn’t think they cover btc ETH link etc.

well it was probably thought based off past policy, posted before reading iowa's post.. but they also use wording like this:
quote:
Digital currency, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum, is not subject to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”) or Securities Investor Protection Corporation protections.
but I guess they have a separate commercial criminal insurance nowadays. But since its not FDIC/SIPCP, I have to wonder how rigorous their coverage will be if push comes to shove. It is very comforting knowing that it DOES have some coverage though, thats a big step in the right direction for mass adoption.

indeed. I'm curious to know voyagers policy. I really don't want to kyc at another outfit but I'm down for a legitimate coinbase replacement

Same. Would be great to feel it’s safe enough to store there and earn interest on.

Any thoughts on LinkPool token (LPL)? I see its hit Bancour and Uni . 100 mil total supply and I think itll play a huge role in staking LINK going forward . Last I checked was swopping around $14.

Only down about $2k now on ICX, you know, since dropping thousands on it at ATHs four years ago
Posted on 3/28/21 at 4:21 pm to RATeamWannabe
I think icx has a chance to run a bit. If the market doesn’t 2018 itself again, I’m hoping it’s $5 after summer
