This whole sector is being controlled downward by something much bigger. This is not big enough news to move the needle against the forces at play here

Being in Europe could help though in the long run.
I kind of thought Uber would buy Avride late this year. Maybe one day.

Should we expect a run up heading towards earnings?

Yes.
Well, uhhhh.... Maybe not.
It's a definite maybe...

All seriousness aside, this thing has got to be wound up so tight that I would think we'll have a good run up to earnings...
Having said that, would it surprise me if today was like Monday? No.
As IT said, their are large forces holding this down, and when the damn breaks, they are all planning on making money...

I expect a somewhat of a good run up to earnings and then a big pop on 11 and again on 12
Again, for some reason, there is a LOT of money holding down the AI hosting and Quantum Computing markets. I believe they are so heavily shorted they are trying to get themselves a position to get out.
That's why I believe it will really run again once that happens.
ETA: whole sector down again today except NBIS premarket cause we announced an earnings date a some slightly good news with Avride. Forces will move in tho...

Please explain why they would short the position in order to exit. I would think the opposite would be true.
Sorry for the ignorance but I’m a rookie fresh off the bus.

If there are 25M+ short position, call it 10% of the stock, with a stock that has around 60% insider and longterm holders....it is very volatile. These shorts need to get the price as low as they can get it in order to unload their short position so they don't lose their arse. They know they can drive down this sector in tandem and then unload in the way down.
Shorts want a lower price...so big boys can force the price down and try to get a panic so they can buy back their shares at the lowest price possible

Got to unload quite a bit on the pop, whew
It’s incredible what they can do

They shorted it bc some idiot on 60 minutes said the bubble is going to pop. The data on this stock does not suggest that it is over valued, in fact it’s the opposite. Yet it’s being shorted. Speculators thought the lefties who watch 60 minutes would panic sell and they would leverage the wave down. Screw them all. Sitting on 700 shares that I averaged down to 121$. Let the run up begin.

This is a must read from Alger Funds CEO Dan Chung:
AI Boom, not a Bubble
Chung’s Stock Picks
quote:
Norton: What stocks do you like?
Chung: Every year around this time, everyone wants to know if it’s time to sell Nvidia because it was up so much. It’s not the time to sell Nvidia. I gave you the multiples and the growth rate. There’s still a lot of upside. The stock chart has basically done nothing since July. A lot of people have gone into more meme-like stocks that have skyrocketed and ignored this high-quality company with great earnings, the absolute leader in this technology.
Norton: What else?
Chung: Nebius NBIS is the leading AI data center company. Our team, led by Ankur Crawford and Patrick Kelly, identified it really early, and the stock has broken out. In the last year, it has announced major deals with the hyperscalers. We think it will grow tremendously over the next 10 years. The company has multiple technology and other investments, all of which will benefit from AI.
They have a stake in an open-source data management business called ClickHouse, used by software programmers and developers. It’s a very important, high-quality development platform. It has an autonomous driving technology developed years ago, when Nebius was part of Yandex. It left Russia, reorganized and reformed in Europe, negotiated the loss of the Russian business, but retained other assets, including its autonomous driving technology.
It’s a bit like Softbank, in that they have a core business, like data centers and other businesses that they invested in, grew, and developed. We don’t think the market fully values it. Nebius is growing 400% this year and another 400% next year as well. We’re also looking at it becoming EBITDA-positive next year. We do see it as an extremely high grower five years out. We see Nebius going from over $500 million in revenues in 2025 to over $2.5 billion in 2026. The stock basically should double over the next three to four years.
