Are you insinuating it is guaranteed to go up near the halving? Sounds like a great bet for the common man.

I wouldn't put money in escrow to place a wager with a stranger on the internet.

But I do think there are specific examples of investments I've chosen that are less likely to go down and may have more upside over the next two years.

For example u.un or glatf

The whole point of a third party escrow is it’s safe for both parties.

Many online to choose from.

We can pretend there's an escrow. But it would be pretty moronic to actually do if you cared about managing your money.

For example if bitcoin moons to 100k you should be able to harvest some gains and remove risk. This would really just be about fake prestige on a niche part of a message board anyway.

We can pretend. As of May 6 2023 currently seeing:

Bitcoin: 28,914.70USD
Glatf: 2.01 USD
TSE: U.UN: 16.08 CAD

We can compare the results on May 6, 2025 if we're both still posting here.

I've been here 15 years and you've been here longer. The chances are good.

But I am not interested in paper trading ego bets. I want someone with conviction who is putting their beliefs on the line.

I'm up to 50% of my net worth in Bitcoin. What do you have in Glatf?

If only there were some sort of neutral, intelligent escrow system, like, I don't know, a smart contract on Ethereum that would handle this.

Why?
Why not just make a call?

A two-year bet, with an intervening election and likely recession, is obviously nothing more than a crapshoot.

But odds are that many/most up & comers like LMND, BILL, SNOW, or CV19 beatdown tickers (aka cruise lines) like NCLH will outperform BTC over that timeframe, with lower beta. Even with an intervening mild/moderate recession.

I'm not a BTC "hater" by any means. But its price drivers are opaque, at best, and so are wide open to manipulation (e.g. What was the cause of BTC's recent 75% drop). So I'm not an investor either.

First, let's see if you can explain why Bitcoin will be more valuable in 2 years than it is today.
