He is a lot smarter than I am so this is concerning…but he also gets his timing wrong a lot.

Not sure about that, but his claim that he "taught the Goldman mortgage desk" about using CDS to short mortgage bonds is...inane.
Michael Lewis is better at writing fiction than non-fiction which sometimes leads to him confusing the two.

Some of the best parts of what he wrote in Money Ball and The Blind Side were pure fabrications.

I suspect the same is true of The Big Short.

Doesn’t tell us much. He could have already closed them. They were new positions sometime in Q2. Just had to report before Q2 ended.

Unless I’m mistaken these were the positions with which he ended the 1Q. He looked pretty wise for a week or so at least.

For the quarter, Nvidia is expected to report adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.88 on revenue of $43.3 billion, according to Bloomberg analyst consensus data. The company reported adjusted EPS of $0.61 on revenue of $26 billion in the same period last year.

Wall Street anticipates Nvidia's data center revenue to top out at $39.2 billion, up from $22.5 billion, which works out to a 74% year-over-year increase. Gaming revenue, the company's second-largest segment, is set to hit $2.8 billion, up from $2.6 billion

haven't followed Burry in several years....last I recall he was buying land(?).

That’s correct. He parked his hedge fund I think in 2015? Mostly growing his asset fund at this point. He has invested many millions in land and water assets. These types of investments aren’t the most public, and generally aren’t as easily “followed” as equity tickers … so the jury is still out on whether he’s a good investor or not. Personally I think he’s a smart AF hedge fund veteran, has an identifiable system based on long term trends, and has been consistently proven successful.

Equity investors don’t like Burry for the same reason that craps bettors disfavor those that bet the Don’t Pass line ….. regardless of the lack of logic they apply.

Burry’s a selective contrarian … and a lot can be learned by watching his investment strategies. If he’s shorting that much NVDA, there’s a valid thesis behind the action …

Big Short, just turned to Big Pucker

Probably not really, shorting NVDA just does not seem sound. Looking at you Norway.
