I like the idea of Meta but one of the issues I see is the Oculus Quest 2 is very expensive. How can you get people to use or get hooked on a product they can't even afford to initially use.
Every drug dealer knows the 1st few hits and cheap.

BTW in case y'all didn't hear, Meta pulled out of almost 600,000 SQ ft of office tower space in Austin.

Meta has no idea how to build a market-successful product line. Oculus will continue to be a niche product and Meta investments in VR space will continue to be massive wastes which will eventually implode Meta, and FB will be spun off

Cell phones are responsible for a 40% increase in near sightedness according to my eye doctor. Metaverse is much, much harder on the eyes.

That was a good read, thanks.
Pretty much my exact feelings about meta stated properly. Zuck may be a strange little man but I do not think he is stupid. The lion’s share of spending is going towards overcoming obstacles of the core business and further establishing a moat in a tough constantly evolving industry and they have the cash to warp speed themselves ahead of anyone else other than google for the long run. I like it. Metaverse may or may not be a thing- as far as investing in a stock based off an unknown/potential, I feel like getting a massive one and an established juggernaut all in one at these valuations is worth it.
As always very open to anyone telling me this is unwise, please

Meta begins mass layoffs... err cost savings this week. Hopefully they start at the reality labs division.

Kind of wanted to be assigned those shares from puts sold - slightly less bad inflation really ruining my plans

What strikes and expiration did you have, if you don’t mind me asking?
Come on over to the options thread and help us keep that going.

I have a cost basis in the $200s, but enough was enough from a valuation standpoint. Still believe it’s a high quality long term hold.

Were you ever tempted to add to your position when it was depressed?

Absolutely, but there were a lot of depressed stocks in the fall, and I honestly had more in it than I wanted. If I would have been more disciplined buying on the front end, I would have had more flexibility to add from $90-$130. I added at $135 a day or two before earnings and that drop following earnings was just demoralizing, hence this thread lol.
ETA: also couldn’t buy the day after earnings because it was under a rating review/change with my firm so we restrict it from personal trading.

Yeah, I can certainly understand that feeling… maybe a little too well.
