With Shaughnessy, you can (and should) spend as much time as you need with every assignment and quiz, as there is no time limit. I would often go through the course material, then open the quiz, and go over it again while taking the quiz. Sometimes multiple times if I was stuck.
I guess it depends on what your goal is, the final assessments are pretty tough, and quantitative while the rest of the week is more qualitative. I found the module assessments to be pretty tough and generally got "B's" on them, so I made sure to get as close to 100% as possible on the rest of the work to ensure an A in the class. Spending the extra time on the early assignments will still help with the rest of the assignments for the week AS WELL AS the rest of the class, as much of the work builds on previous weeks.
There is a lot of stuff covered in past zooms as well, so look through the playlist for the extra videos (there's a playlist, so don't just watch the first video...).
I think his zoom sessions were Thursday evenings, if I remember correctly. Most of all, he has the most interactive setup of any teacher I've had in the program so far. Class discussion forums, zoom sessions, and don't forget that you can email him directly.

I am reading the Group Project Manual for ISDS 705 with Darban. This doesn't sound like the description of the class I've read about on Tigerdroppings. WOW
Unsure about pairing it up with another class.
A group project? In ISDS 705? I'm interested in hearing more about this. Sounds completely different than how Lin's class operates.

@GeauxUF
Well, I can only paraphrase to respect the disclaimer on the Group Project Manual, "This document is proprietary to Dr. Mehdi Darban. Website posting, or reproducing and sharing in any form is strictly prohibited." Granted, the manual appears thorough with 35 pages and even has a section on how to earn a B.
Recommends travelling, if possible, to the company you would like to work on for the project. Also, group presentations. I'm not sure if I am there yet with online classes.
Also, I'm known as a hard @$$ at work; but, the overall tone of all documents is off-putting, even if I agree with them. Like emails/texts, this could be because it is in print and we do not have a rapport. Such as, " little sympathy, you are a grown up." And, the syllabus stating "I do not care what other professors do."
I'm not opposed to this class. It just doesn't seem like it will pair well with another class as previously mentioned while keeping a full time job along with a family life.

Anyone with any feedback on O'Donnell and MADM 725, as far as teaching strategy, class structure...etc?

where is the discussion board supposed to be found?
somewhere in moodle?

LSUnFL, while the class sounds kind of interesting and potentially more "MBA appropriate" than Lin's class, the teacher sounds like a jerk already and the class has only just started.
Not sure if he would be preferable to (the possibly imaginary) Lin. Sounds like Gibbs is still the best choice for a good learning experience. If you stick with the class though, I believe many people here could benefit from a review.

Anyone have any idea? Would like to know before submitting the mini-discussion later today. (re: MADM760 McLaughlin writing assignment lengths)

Currently taking MADM725 Resort/Casino Mgmt. Would like some insight into Module 1 Exam this week. Lots of reading and facts, but no idea what he will test on - hopefully not all of it...

@Iltl4hlm2 I'm looking for some feedback on MADM725 as well. Let me know if you come across anything and I'll do the same. Not sure what to expect on the first Exam - the readings are loaded with dates and facts.

Thank you so much for that information. You mentioned "past zooms" that could be found through the "playlist", where can I find these?
Thank you!
Thank you!

In the multimedia section of each module, there will usually be two lecture videos for the module. Below those two will be a section called "supplemental" which is an actual playlist of various past zooms and other supplemental resources appropriate for that module. They're not well labeled however, as many of them refer to questions from back in the textbook days, but if you browse them a bit, you can usually find what you need.
The supplemental video is probably labeled "Making graphs in Excel" but if you click the "hamburger" in the top left corner, you will see that there are multiple videos available.

Does anyone know what the BADM 790 (LT) - Lean Transformation - class is all about? It looks new based on the Schedule of Courses effective Spring 2019. I can't find anything on it in the catalog or on this board. Trying to start planning my classes for the Spring and this one looks interesting.

Is the total page value in the first tab of the RQ excel spreadsheets in ISDS 705 with Gibbs expected to be a specific value? The cell pulls from the chapter page sums in the second tab.

It just gives him an idea of if he needs to look at your answers. I turned it in Monday and got full credit. Basically if your number matches his control, he knows your answers are more than likely in the ballpark so it helps him grade faster. If your number isn’t the same as his, he will look at your answers to grade.
The module 1 project has the same thing. The videos explain it, but it is a little uncomfortable at first.

Ah hah, makes sense. Thanks for the insight.

Got it! Thanks. Has anyone taken ISDS 715 project management? Who teaches it and how was it? I know if Gibbs it teaching it I’ll be on it like white on rice but wasn’t sure.
