I haven't taken Vines yet, I get that next. However, Hsieh just has a long word document, his videos are reading from it, and he is very hard to understand. I would not describe him as teaching, but forced learning.

Anyone have info as to whether Darrat will continue to teach sessions for Mkt 701?

It wouldn't be normal for a professor to come in and just teach 1 session and not continue right?

I'm enrolled in the session that starts in a couple weeks but may opt to drop and hope to get in on another session.

As of right now, I plan on walking in December. Makes all this hard work much more meaningful!

I'd take a non-James taught MKT701 course while you have the option. The last time someone other than James taught MKT701 was Fall 2017.

The material isn't difficult with her but she's completely oblivious with the project. I think her rationale with doing it is because it's "MBA level" course. Overwhelming with busy work doesn't make it MBA level. You really don't learn a whole lot because you're too busy consuming your time bullsh!tt!ng your way through the paper. Readings/Exams are nothing more than cram sessions as a result.

Get through the 7 weeks with her and you have a good shot at an A. The graders seem to want the course to be over as much as the students.

Received my diploma in the mail over the weekend. "Graduating" didn't feel quite real until that moment I opened it. Honestly, it felt pretty damn great.

congrats to my grad-mates and best of luck to all of you who continue to push forward for that day of your own

I've seen Darrat teach 2 sessions of MKT701, one last Fall AP1 and one this Fall AP1. Take it for what it's worth on projecting future sessions.

@WDE Lucky you to get to be a grader this week. She posted our initial responses are due tomorrow. Figured it was possibility with abbreviated week. I was scheduled to write responses to discussions this week but already got my Week 6 Assignment grade back just now to lock in grade I wanted so going to pass on doing it. Wednesday was difficult enough to get the chapters read and write the responses. Found it to be the most difficult thing in the course. Gonna read the chapters today/tomorrow and take the final exam Tuesday night or Wed.

I know Felice Williams has gotten some bad reviews from MADM701 (which scared me going into the course) but I didn't find MADM710 to be unfair and course layout was fine. She responded quickly both times I communicated with her. Thought the course was pretty straight forward.

@baroqen Thank you for your suggestion. I registered ECON 705 with Shaughnessy and MADM 760 with Meeks. From what I have learnt through this forum, these are two heavy load courses that I've paired for AP2. I'm looking if I could get course material for these courses so, I can prepare some ahead of my sessions.

For ECON 705, I would just use YouTube videos on regression in Excel. He does excellent videos each week to teach the material. The course is really just your standard MicroEcon class in terms of actual material.

MADM760 w/ Meeks, the reading is actually fairly light and the text is not dense at all. The workload is really related to the weekly synthesis writings where you answer questions about the material and case study, which changes each class. On top of that is the group work and the 20 page synthesis paper. It would be very hard to pre-study for this class. He also does good weekly videos.

@Sactown, Is it that if you take specialization on any courses, it's not going to display on the transcript unless you do the concentration ?

@becky Tami Knotts and I have no complaint

@craig I still don’t have my grade for the case assignment but this week will be a breeze for me with only quiz and grading. Going to spend my time focused on Econ. Only 4 days left! :nana:

I don’t think it affects anything. I have a 4.0 currently and while I didn’t find ISDS 702 extremely difficult I just couldn’t put the time in. Life stuff....

@sernt18 Look a few pages back, and there's also a book for Econ 705. I didn't use it, but I know a few people really could have.

Anyone take the last Self-Assessment for Econ 705 yet? How many questions was it, and was it difficult? I've managed to do pretty well so far, but I'm pretty stressed about this last one. I'm close to the edge of the grade, so one really bad self-assessment could drop me a letter grade. I thought I aced the last one, and ended up doing the worst out of the 6.

Hey everyone I'm new to this site but I have found a lot of useful info. My question is regarding commencement. Is it like undergrad where you can participate even if you have one class left to complete or do you have to complete every course? I know it's a stupid question but I'm overseas on deployment and will only get to come home this year in December and I don't want to miss out on my graduation. I only have one class (after this fall) to take in January and I will be completely done.

What do you think of doing ISDS 705 with James Gibbs and MADM 760 with Nathan Heller ?

I just finished Summer AP2 MADM 760 with Heller. I thought it was pretty easy and staright-forward. Lots of reading and a large paper, but easy. Only 2 chapters per week with a weekly quiz - No exams.
I haven't had ISDS 705 yet, but from all of the reading that I have done on this forum, Gibbs would be the first choice, then Lin.
