Group D and been Grade stalking since yesterday! No grades yet for MKT 701, Group D. I'm trying to wait on my grades for forum and project to determine if I'm even going to attempt the final quiz.

As long as I get a B, I will be happy. I have a low A right now as Module 4 really messed me up! I just need a 50% on the exam to get a B in the course.

I'm not a drinker but heavy drinking may be involved after this course!

ACCT701, squandered my A going in and ended up with a B. Super happy to be over this class but the final was super hard and the practice final was not representative at all. It was like McGee got some kick out of giving people a false sense of confidence. I'm pissed...

Finished Final ACCT 701. It was tough with no relation with Practice test (except 3 questions). Prepare all excel beforehand and don't waste more then 4 min on any question. Some Q took more then 15 mins, its not worth spending time on those.

I wrote 15 pages and she gave me 208 out of 200, but the score is limited to 200 points max in Moodle. There are 10 extra credit point built into the rubric, which is why my raw score was higher than 200.

I missed points because I somehow missed licensing fees. I thought they were built into the spreadsheet template, so I didn't pay attention to them.

My grader and Dr. James were very kind.

I hope you have a similar outcome.

Think I wrote 20 pages. Licensing fees I think I included business license, trademark, and etc. First project I got a 206 so kind of hoping for the same so I can say "FORGET IT" to mod 7 quiz.

Welp, MKT701 is done, as is MADM752. I would not recommend taking them together ha!

Hope everyone does well as they wrap up their respective courses this term, especially everyone in marketing.

And thanks to everyone for dealing with all of us in MKT701, we've done a lot of complaining and groaning over the last 7 weeks. Its justified but i'm sure it gets old to everyone else. To those that haven't taken the course, don't let this forum scare you. Just take the course alone and do not give up. IMO succeeding in the course is a simple matter of putting in the time.

The final for ACCT 701 was horrible. I was cursing the whole way through the exam. I was able to make a b+ for the final course grade; however, I took it solo and I am so glad this course is over. I feel for anyone who took this class along with any other course.

I honestly feel bad for anyone who made a C and below. McGee is so strict on no extra credit, no this and no that... Obviously, many people had rough grades because of format issues in assessments etc. To anyone who wishes to take ACCT 701 with McGee in the future, don't expect Dr. McGee to offer any real help and prepare to look at hours of YouTube videos explaining things/concepts that the professor fails to explain.

I'm sure she is busy in her face-to-face courses and with 450 online students, its hard to answer every question; however, if you know you are going to be teaching ACCT 701 into the foreseeable future, at least plan and record videos of the content that way in future classes, you could share them with the students instead of giving textbook answers or relying on other students to teach for you. I would love to have some videos of Dr. McGee (an accounting professional CPA) standing in front of a whiteboard and explaining the different sections of this course. I really believe that professors are lazy with their online classes.

How hard would it be to prerecord videos that would last the next 10 years? Instead, we have to hope the people on YouTube know what they are talking about. What if the professor walks into a face-to-face class and sits behind the desk, tells you to read ch 4, 5 and 6 and when someone asks a question, they just give you the book answer?

Other than that little rant< congrats to everyone who finished their courses. I'm sure you guys/girls in MKT had a hell of a time =)

The comments about both MKT 701 and ACCT 701 have been terrifying for me, as I was planning to try and double them up next year. It seems painful that ACCT 701, MKT 701, FIN 701, and MADM 701 are always offered together and all seem to be difficult courses to double up on.

If I end up splitting MKT 701 and ACCT 701, it means one additional semester, which seems painful... Torn on what to do. Hoping the issues iron themselves out in the interim.

I noticed that no one ever talks about the thesis. Is a thesis not required for this program?

With ACCT 701, you should be fine to take two courses if you take Ambrosio, Fabio. According to this forum, he is the better option anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if most people dropped a full letter grade due to that final, I know I did.

Same exact thing happened to me! I took the final and was taken aback by the way she laid everything out. My hard fought A turned into an 88.25, I don’t qualify for rounding to an A ?? Didn’t help that my wireless mouse died at the end of the final and my mousepad wouldn’t respond. I couldn’t go back to do a final review of the questions.

I’m just glad this nightmare is over!

I worked mu butt off to position myself nicely for the final. I had a mid level A going in and ended up with an 88.X (that gives you an idea of how badly I did on that final). I was beyond pissed but have reached the acceptance stage of grieving. If I had to do this again, I would wait to take ACCT with Ambrosio, McGee needs to be avoided if possible.

I took MKT 701 (James) and ACCT 701 (Ambrosio) together. Although I received As in both, I would not recommend taking both together. That was a difficult pairing for me, especially working full time. I have taken three courses together and it was fine, so you can gauge that pairing. I had to actually take a break from the program after that pairing.

I doubled up on both this term. It was a massive challenge to juggle those classes the past few weeks.

MKT 701 by itself was a 30+ hour commitment for at least 5 of the 7 weeks. Dr. James is a great instructor from an engagement standpoint, as she's very approachable and seems to genuinely care about success in the course. It looks like I'll end up with an A there.

The content in ACCT 701 is very straightforward and you know exactly what you need to read well ahead of time. The issue in ACT 701 is specifically with McGee: extremely strict, bold red letters everywhere commanding students to not bother emailing her any questions whatsoever, completely on autopilot, very disengaged from the course, dismissive of issues with the exams. I'm currently sitting on a B that would have been an A had it not been for so many technical issues with the tests and a final exam that was very different from the practice exam she provided.

My suggestion, again, if you have a full time job and a life outside of work, take MKT 701 by itself. ACCT 701 is very doable doubled up with another course, just be very aware that with McGee any mistake made on any test, either your own or otherwise, will be very costly to your grade.
