Really wish Dr. Darrat would get things for ISDS 710 posted. With it being a new class, getting a bit antsy to find out what it's going to look like.

For those who took FIN 701 with Vines, does he eventually post a study guide separate from the “module reading” and “practice” word documents? I’ve read here that re-wording the study guide is a valuable way to prep for exams, so I’m just wondering if it’s actually titled as a study guide. The documents he has up now might as well be written in Japanese from my perspective.

I'm in Acct with McGee and Fin with Vines this term.
I too have already started reviewing the materials with the week head start.
Madm Courses are my area of comfort. So, This term may be rough for me. We shall see.
Enjoy your last weekend of freedom! Happy Cinco De Mayo and Derby days!!

@marssmi0827 I am in MADM701 with you. It does look straight forward. I wish there was a way to access the book in PDF offline. I have it downloaded with adobe digital creations but says it only last 1 day. The course does look straight forward surely there is more to it considering past reviews of the class,

I have not tried to download it yet. But I do know past reviews of the course were with instructor Felice Williams. This is Kungu’s first time teaching it from my understanding. We struck gold!

Vines last term just posted his MS Word reading guide. It is very short (on average 10-15 Pages maybe). I don't think he posts anything additional other than that and practice problems (some modules may have an additional powerpoint from my recollection)
You will be using many external resources that you find to aid in learning. Particularly if unfamiliar with finance.
Know how to use Excel and/or Financial Calculator if you don't already. Always attend (or watch the recordings of) his Zoom sessions. He usually does 4-5 of them for every test.

What book are they using for MADM701 this term? When I took it, it was downloadable. Intro to org behavior, an evidence based approach.

I see that there is a marketing simulation as part of the class. Didn't he do that for when he taught the Marketing MBA course? Anyone here take him for that and have anything to share on his version of that course? I'm guessing he's repurposing some of that content for ISDS 710.

We're using the same book. I'm having no problems viewing the individual chapters from Kungu's post on the Class News and Announcements page. I can also access the full book by clicking the reading links in the syllabus.
Perhaps the links just weren't active yet. Anyone still having issues?

I'm disappointed in the syllabus for ISDS 710. I was expecting a heavy quantitative class, but instead we have weekly 5-10 page case study reviews to write and tons of marketing material. Granted there is a bit of excel work, but overall this feels more like a MKT class than an ISDS class. After MADM 760, I was hoping for a brief respite from writing tons of material every week.
The simulation has been removed from the class syllabus also.

Can someone provide the study guide for Vines FIN 701 course? I've got it coming up later in the year and will be doubling it up w/ MKT 701, so I'd like to try and get a jump start on studying to make my last term a bit easier.
Thanks!
Thanks!

quote:I totally agree. I know it's too early to complain but this has far more writing than I was expecting for what should be a heavy quantitative course. I was also really interested in the simulation, which as you mention, has been removed from the syllabus. (I still have the previous version of the syllabus saved from last night to compare against.)

Maybe the Excel assignments will fulfill what I was hoping for but I'm disappointed in what I'm seeing so far.

@Dilly Time
Im not having any troubles viewing them I was just hoping to be able to download a copy to use offline because I cannot access the site at work and like to read on my lunch breaks. Looks like he will post a PDF each module so I am not worried anymore.

I am in MADM 701 as well. I am one of those who cannot access the book via the links provided. Glad he provided the pdf links to the chapter. The text in the first chapter is less than exciting.

ISDS710 here also. Good thing my Data Analytics concentration will be heavy in Marketing and not data analytics.

Still waiting on a syllabus for MKT701. There's absolutely nothing on moodle yet, and all we've received thus far is an email saying drop the course if you plan to take a vacation.

She could’ve at least posted the syllabus since she should be done grading her other class by now....
