I'm blended so I don't feel those dips as much as some others.

And then it goes down again. Blame it on me.

I’m getting slaughtered this year. End of last I focused on what I thought was low risk dividends. F, O, VZ, & MO. They must be down 15% in the past 60 days alone with no end in sight.

Seems like every year I increasingly think to myself F’it just throw that money at a coin base account.

Those are good dividend stocks. Collect the dividends a drip them. You must of bought high on on them all. I actually bought a bunch of O at low 50's and then sold them when they got up to 62. Had a feeling O would drop. I bought Mo at low 40's and loving that ride plus those dividends. in a way want it to drop to 40's again so I can buy more. VZ surprise me because I guess I caught it low because I am still way positive on it. F I like because it's so cheap I can stack that stock easily and great Dividends. But with it I have a rule buy often when it gets below 10 and sell when it goes above 14

Low growth dividend stocks, you stick around for the yield expecting very little price action. However dont go chasing large yields. They are large for a reason. Obviously F, O, and VZ have not really been growing earnings and dont have much path forward. MO is slightly different and mostly stayed flat.

Generally avoid those types of play if you are looking for growth. What you probably hoped to get was dividend growth, which usually you initiate positions at a much lower yield

60 days is such a small window in time, seems like noise

Caddy, I had forgotten you were here. Did you find an AU board home after our old board went all premium? Or did you stay on there? I've had GDX for years, its bouncing has been nice for writing CC's against.

Not really, … I had been a premium member there before , but stopped when they ditched several forums (Toomers, tailgating, etc) I still participate once in awhile in Gameday Tigers with Nootch, houtiger, herb and those good folks

Indeed I’ve been in Gdx before, love it, and it appears to be looking good for a nice return in 2025/beyond.

The GDXJ is more a speculative play, (assumes lower fuel prices in 2025 will lower fuel expenses for juniors.

I bought MO at 42 and now it's around 52. Not bad for a growth stock in my opinion for 10 months plus 10% dividends. So essentially I made 25% in the last 10 months off of it. My only gamble is BITO and another 10 months my initial investment will be paid back to me and I can just play with house money for that stock. People can do dividend investing and hit growth stocks and primed times. I did that with Microsoft, nvda. cvx, apple, google, bac, avgo, and ibm. I like dividend investing but I am also hitting up SOFI, NU, and TTWO right now. TTWO because grand theft auto 6 will be coming our in the fall and projected 2-3 billion in sales

I spent 1500 today. I keep 1500 handy for days like this. I just transferred 1500 over to cover what I spent. I buy every Tuesday and then when I see a bargain with stocks in my portfolio. I have 20 stocks I care to own. They’re diversified so I didn’t have a bad day. Not great but loss less than 0.1% so marginal. Still up for the year so far

If you're interested, I'm on an invitation-only board that I like a lot. Rational discussion, good balance of AU people, couple of insiders.

I've got another one for ya.

OPFI

What a beauty.

Sold MRVL after 20.5% gains yesterday, and I think I've found its replacement. I plan on going long in my Roth tomorrow.

Caddy, I'll have to get your email, and I assume you want the same username, right? They'll send you a direct invitation.

Unfortunately I guess we have no way to DM each other here with that kind of info. As soon as I see your response I'll grab it and let you know I have it so you can delete it.
