Been using etrade since 2007, so I dont really have knowledge of any other platform to really tell you if it's better or not, but I like it.

Trades are 4.99 after you get to a certain threshold, I think it's like 50k in the account or more than 30 trades a month or something like that, other than that is 6.99

I use TD Ameritrade - it’s $6.95/trade.

I use Vanguard for my IRA stuff, and I find TD Ameritrade to be easier than Vanguard to use.

Oh yeah etrade is on that .95 cent bus, that's right, not .99; if those 4 cents were a game changer for you

I use Robinhood, too. I opened an account with Charles Schwab for the reason you’re referencing. Trades are $4.95, no minimums, and the platform is very easy to use. I’ve been working mainly with the app.

I bought heavy into the cannibis ETF On Stash at IPO. It really hasn’t done much in almost a year.

I actually had a Scottrade account from years ago that I haven’t used in over 10 years, then I got an email saying my Scottrade account switched over to TD Ameritrade. That’s why I used TD Am for my LVVV trades, but after using it I really liked their platform. No complaints.

Why would VNDM be trying to keep the price down?

Go back a few pages to that Reddit link I posted with the “market maker confessions”. That explains pretty well how they operate.

Slang is the Cannabis IPO to watch- Real Money

Hopefully there is some synergy with these consolidating companies to create a huge brand name

quote:

The company has an implied market value of $541 million and the shares are expected to be priced at $1.50. However, this share price was determined prior to Constellation Brands' (STZ) investment into Canopy Growth (CGC) , sending cannabis stock valuations higher, so this could end up being an unusually low price.

What makes this IPO one to watch is the inclusion of Organa Brands. Before listing on the CSE, SLANG acquired Organa for northwards of $200 million according to Billy Levy, Co-founder and President of Slang. Denver-based Organa Brands' official name is National Concessions Group Inc. The company is best known for its vape brand O.penVAPE. The company also makes Bakked dab products, Magic Buzz cannabis beverages and District Edibles gummies. It's best known for the Organa Labs, which is the extraction process part of the company and is essentially its backbone.

quote:

In addition to the Organa acquisition, Slang is also acquiring NWT Holdings, which is also known as Firefly. This is a dry material vape pen that competes with the well-known PAX device. Miller said he was most impressed with Firefly's co-founder Mark Williams, who was a design manager at Apple (AAPL) , leading the Mac OS X interface. "His design expertise is truly blue chip," said Miller. "We want to leverage his expertise of industrial design across the whole portfolio, as well." He said that the next generation of Firefly vape pens are going to occupy a super-premium segment of the market. Firefly will also be launching its own oil products this year.

quote:

Slang will also have the right of first refusal to license the Green House Brands, which includes the Green House Seed Co. and Strain Hunters. The Green House Seed Company has produced over 60 award-winning cannabis strains and was founded by Arjam Roskam.

Geez, baw, give it time.

I’ve said from the start around the end of the second quarter of ‘19 is the time to expect big moves. Don’t just look at the daily share price, look at what the company is actually doing.

Yeah. Watching some of the other stocks take off is making me scratch my head about LVVV. Might be time to close my position and look for something else.

CRON has increased 80% since Christmas!

With it's current price the company is valued at $3 billion and their profit for ALL of last year was $27M. I'm not kidding.

This is the crypto/dot-com craze. Once Feb 14 (Earnings release) happens it will all crash and burn.

FWIW Cron and CGC are great long term holds though. Just immensely overvalued at the moment. I sold my CRON and CGC as of today.

CGC is up 75% as well. I'm debating at what point I want to sell that one.

but why LVVV ? I mean, your putting 5 figures at work here on a random 3 man company? Maybe if you were buddies with one of these guys and you had some info, but so random for that much right ? I like to gamble, but what is the thesis for this one over some other one...

FYI I bought my first weed stock, CGC on Friday, I'm up 7% !

Organigram blew up today. OGRMF

It's revenue has gone up like 250% every quarter of reporting; their margins are great, and their operating costs are low. Their CEO is constantly exercising stock options as well.

It's the only position from when I started investing in cannabis stocks in late 2017 to go long and since jan 1 2018 it's up about 35%.(I sold my cgc during the first part of the dip in october at $44 and repurchased at $32)

The difference is unlike a lot of these companies they are actually making money. I think it's a pretty safe bet; not sure what the ceiling is; maybe not lottery, never have to worry about anything again money like LVVV

My cannabis portfolio is (From largest position to smallest):
CGC (They will win the game of cannabis)
.
.
.
CNPOF (because of ties to CGC)
.
.
LVVV (just so I can be cool)
OGRMF
MO (I guess its a cannabis stock now)
APHA (not a huge fan but bought after huge selloff, was too cheap)

Not random, and not a 3 man company.

Wouldn’t that be like insider trading or something illegal?

I don’t invest in cannabis stocks aside from LVVV. Every other dollar I invest is in something safe and simple like a target date fund/3-fund portfolio type with a goal of 5 or 6%. I don’t know if you’ve followed the whole thread, but I’ve said all I really want to say about what put me on to this particular company for certain personal reasons.

I really don’t think anyone should invest in this or any stock based on my reasons - they should look at the info relayed, evaluate the business plan, and decide if it is something they believe in.

I’m gonna wait until the American game gets rolling before I declare something like that.
