The department has responded to increasing occurrences of tax fraud by implementing enhanced security measures to protect Louisiana taxpayers. This means it will take additional time to process refunds.
The expected refund processing time for returns filed electronically is up to 60 days. For paper returns, taxpayers should expect to wait 12 to 14 weeks.
"implementing enhanced security measures to protect Louisiana taxpayers"
How naive do they think we are?

I have a client that LDR decided recently, incorrectly, that they owed an additional $110 on their 2012 return. That led to a series of errors at LDR that resulted in the client getting a bill for 2013, not 2012, and that bill was not for $110, but for $30,174.18.
LDR is a disaster right now. Not all their fault - they are really struggling with all the demands placed on it by the legis in the form of new mandates and mid-year tax changes.

Mine took about 2 weeks.
ETA: They must not be too concerned about refunds less than $70.

This is why I file an extension, and pay on the last date possible when I owe. It ain't much, but it makes me feel better.
Makes them feel good too....you're paying interest and penalties. Pay on the 15th if you can.

You got a ways to go. they are telling people 60 days. Some aren't taking that long.

Im assuming folks who filed electronically and did direct deposit will go a little quicker. Or at least that's just what I'm hoping

While the 60 days for "fraud prevention" is just a load of BS, waiting two weeks isn't extreme. Also, if you don't want a refund change your withholding to get it closer to the actual amount you owe.

Everyone should do this for state, IMO.
