Quotes are not looking good for me. Feels like I'm back to square one right out of college and can't save anymore.

Who is left?

I'm thinking of buying in Moss Bluff now to be north of I10

I had them for a couple years I believe. Had progressive before them.

Insurance agent , also my neighbor, just let me know the bad news.

They just dropped me for auto (no kids, wife and I's driving records are spotless) but kept me for homeowners, which I thought was strange. I guess the LA insurance nightmare has now bit me in the arse too.

I've told my wife I will never live south of I-10 again.

Same here. I was told we were “grandfathered” since we were already covered.

I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to drop all of us remaining customers soon.

True story about farmers:

Katrina hit
Rita hit

Farmers asked the state in 06 to raise rates by like 18%. (Admitted carriers have to petition state to raise rates, so they have to file docs justifying it). State said no.
In 07, they again asked. State said no.

So….they left the state. They just recently got back, so I presume something similar has occurred.

Trial lawyers, hurricanes, fraud and significant claims inflation are making it tough to make money for insurances companies in Louisiana.
