Commodity prices are all over the place right now, they have A LOT of debt (from a ridiculous acquisition of plains), "allegations" of bribery at the Indonesian mine, very high short interest. Take your pick really.

Dammit, thought of jumping in when it was in the 3s but held off. Put a order in at 4$ thinking it would dipped back down but instead has taken off.

I need this to drop back down so I can add some more, what is causing this rally?
Posted on 2/9/16 at 10:44 am to GREENHEAD22
I'm out now at $5.17
Left some money on the table for sure, but still a nice gain. The primary reason it was rallying seemed like short covering, which appears to be over (for now). With oil falling again and the debt continuing to mount perhaps there is less incentive to close short positions. I'm sure the "b word" being in the headlines for Chesapeake yesterday wasn't what they needed either.

Typical...
I didn't have a good plan. Well, I did, but I tried to change it. Still a nice gain for me.

Pretty crazy run here. I was looking to get in when it was around 4. I guess I'm waiting to see if it goes back down now

Still in at 7.76
I'm wondering if I should get out now of keep holding.
Any thoughts?

Why not go in on vale? China about to layoff 500,000 workers in the iron/steel industry means more imports rather than production in china. Not sure how long the recent stimulus in china can last but it seems to have upped the price. Plus the Samarco deal looks really favorable, 5 billion over 15 years. 2 cents

Don't listen to me. I left about $2500 on the table.
But, I'd look at today's action and ask yourself if you think it's going much higher in the short term. Obviously if your holing for 5-10 years it can double, triple and more. Depends on your timeline.

Wow up almost 10% again today. I'm gonna ride this out for the long haul.

good job. Wish I had stayed in it.
Still has tons of room on the upside long term I believe.
Like I said, don't listen to me though, clearly I was wrong about yesterday to today.

What's the thought on this? I have bought at multiple prices, the highest at 8.90. Should I sell those shares now and pick back up some more when this dips back down?

Why don't you put a stop-limit in place to protect whatever gain you have that you want to be sure you don't lose? Then if it rises more, ride it up and move the stop-limit higher. If it drops and hits your stop and sells, then you're out and satisfied with your gain.

he'll get stopped out quickly. But not a bad idea, either that or sell some calls against it???

I have no expert advice on this. I'm riding this train for the long haul.
