A correction is always coming.

In fact, this board has predicted 12 out of the last 3 corrections...

There will always be pull backs. Today I purchased FAZ. I expect a pull back today and tomorrow.

I will most likely be out of it by the end of tomorrow. Take my profit and put it in my stocks that are down from Thursday (today) and tomorrow.

Yes, but probably towards the end of the year with the first step being a rise in the interest rates.

That's what I suspect is going to happen. How long it will take for the stimulus effects to wear off is the question. Two weeks? A month? A quarter?

Tougher to call now than 6 months ago. There's a whole new variable that did not exist 6 months ago.

I watch the market with great interest, but I gave up trying to time it a long time ago.

If stocks don’t shoot up after that injection of capital, I will say that makes me nervous about the true values of those equities when normalizing for inflationary effects

A) That injection is likely fully priced in.

B) the best thing this market has going for it is that everyone thinks a crash is right around the corner. They almost never happen when bubbles are readily discussed. They happen when you least expect it.

The fear of a $15 dollar minimum wage as part of the stimulus is what is cratering the markets right now.

Imaging posting this on a day VTI finished up 1/4%.

First you need to define correction. A correction is simply a pullback. A crash is a huge drop in the market.
We had a crash.....Feb/March 2020. Look for 10-20 yrs before another one hits.

Meanwhile stfu and invest. If your investments are solid? A crash doesnt stop you from making money. And every crash is not sudden. You have PLENTY of time to get out the market. Thing is if you dont know? You wont know?

Now if youre on the verge of retirement? Pullout like youre having an affair with Fat Nasty and invest in something less volatile.

Over long periods stock market prices will reflect the value of underlying businesses.

Reversion to the mean is real.

I’m not saying cash out everything, but taking some profits on some positions would be prudent.

Just a short term pullback on cannabis

I’m too bullish in cannabis, I know that, but when the feds decrim it totally and more states slow it recreationally that bubble will ballon like crazy and I’m not going to miss it. I I have plenty of long holds in the cannabis sector.

So you’re saying all companies are bloated? Since when has the market reverted to the means? As long as tech advances yr in yr out? Market will continue on its pace. Technology isn’t going anywhere....

I would never say “all.”

There are not many companies that appear undervalued to me, but I’m not all-seeing or all-knowing.

I’m closer to retirement than many of you and I want to preserve some capital. I’m still substantially invested in equities, I’m just paring some holdings to raise cash.

I’ll identify some stocks I want to own and sell put options to collect premium or enter the position at a lower net price. Most of the time, I just collect premium and try again after expiration.

I’ve been retired a decade, still 100% in equities, would have hated to have missed out on all the money I made over the last 10 years. Started investing in1980, held through all the crashes, just opportunities to buy at a discount, would feel the same way tomorrow.

The pump and dumps will correct soon. The viable small caps will remain robust.

In early 2020 all the talking heads were in agreement that we were heading into a significant recession and would see a pullback.

Instead we had the economy shut down and it’s barely getting going save big business and tech.

The results are record highs in the equity markets due to jillions of dollars flooding the system.

There is a recession on main street at least here in NY.
