Just did mine last night. Got $3,017.00 coming back my way.

I don't have all of my documents yet, but I did a preliminary yesterday. My goal is to have the payments as close as possible so that we don't get a large refund or owe them without penalties.
The result I got yesterday Was a $1.00 refund. Never happened before. Will the IRS even refund a buck cause if they will I am going to make them cut a check.

Yes
And I'm getting back $1720, mainly because I started working in the middle of the year so the percentage taken out was a little off.

I bring my stuff to the accountant Mar. 1 every year. I usually get back about 500.

Getting back $4,500.
And, yes, I've already increased my withholding exemptions for this year.

Owe $3500. Didn't adjust withholdings and wife made error when she changed jobs last year. Live and learn.

I am fairly confident that we will owe $10k, +/- $500. Foock.

I once made a minor error on my state tax return. I got a letter back saying "we found an error on your return and have automatically corrected it. You owe us $1.30 please please PLEASE do not send a check in this amount." Honestly who wants to deal with a $1 check? Anything less than $40 and I'd just go ahead and mark the box to donate it to one of those do-gooder funds.

About $500 between state and federal. I keep it as close as I can, rather have it each paycheck personally.

Paid $4 to the Feds and $82 to the State.

About $300 back. The closest I've come to 0 in a while.

The IRS has a tool on their website which estimates your tax liability based on your estimated income for the next year and your estimated tax credits for the next year.
I ran mine and it basically told me if I change my W4 to Married and 6 I will break even on my taxes.
This is pretty cool because your paychecks are bigger, but you also won't be getting any taxes back at the end of the year.

Yeah, I think I used that a couples of years ago, which is why I'm so close to zero.
Someone I know who doesn't make that much told me today that they were
getting back $7000 and were extremely happy about. Unless you have zero self control, why would you want to use the government as a 0% interest savings account?

This is my exact viewpoint on this, but to each his own. Times are tough; I need all the cash flow I can generate!
