How Does My Wife Get a Credit Card Solely in Her Name?

When dad died, the family credit cards got cancelled and mom had to reestablish her own credit at a tough time.
I suggested that my wife get at least one credit card in her own name to avoid this, but when the first statement arrived it was addressed to both of us.

If she has a cellphone with verizon service, she can apply, if she is the verizon account owner/manager, for the verizon visa credit card (issued through Synchrony Bank).

im familiar with women who can raise kids, have a career, are still part of their husbands company, have their own CC's and investments, retirement accounts etc, etc,
