Reached $6500 today. How do you go about determining what is a good/fair market price for it?

Btc fork. Btc holders will receive btc gold on a 1:1 basis.

After that, I think the price will go down a good bit

You don't. It is a fiat and useless in an emergency.

That's what I expected leading up to and after the last fork, but BTC surged after the BCC (Bitcoin Cash) fork and the 1:1 split was free money.

This may be a good start:

Cryptoassets: The Innovative Investor's Guide to Bitcoin and Beyond

I have not read it, but listened to a podcast with one of the authors a few days ago and it seemed interesting.

People love to down vote criticism of bitcoin but look at Puerto Rico. If the internet is down it is absolutely worthless.

I think thought out constructive criticism has always been welcomed.

This i don't think is that.

You know what else isn't working in Puerto Rico? Cell phones, microwaves, refrigerators, air conditioning, running potable water, etc. Basically everything is shut down.

So yea Puerto Rico might not be the best example of a bitcoin con.

Yup. and that is something everyone should be considering when it comes to changing the financial system moving forward.

Bitcoin gave us block chain (thank heavens for that) but it still does not appear to be as good of a solution as cold hard cash in some form unless we get to a point where disasters or emergency situations are no longer possible.

The best system is going to be a hybrid where both electronic and cash can exist together.

This mentality is what screws over so many people.

You folded your money a few times. You did well and guaranteed yourself a good return. You should be congratulating yourself.
