I’ve been mulling over the idea of investing in some duplexes. I’ve seen talk of Biden’s tax plan affecting landlords but not real sure how and how severe. Can someone give me a rundown of changes?

Paying taxes shouldn't be an aversion to making more money.

Any proposed changes are not set in stone. The president doesn't get everything he wants, so even if you know exactly what his plans are doesn't mean it will happen.

The big topic i see from a basic google search is covid rent forgiveness or loan forebearance w/ all payments tacked onto the end of the loan. It is in concept only, no details worked out.

That's about all i got.

Biden to End 1031 “Like-Kind” Exchanges?

frick biden. no real investors or serious tax payers voted for this CHICOM sellout except those with severe TDS.

need to cut his nuts on anything real estate related.

you cut the 1031 then you are stuck with depreciation recapture and capital gains taxes.

Biden’s Radical Capital Gains Tax Increase

quote:

He says that the increases would be just for high earners, but his proposals would hit all of us by damaging investment, entrepreneurship and job opportunities.

quote:

A capital gains tax increase would harm investment in start-?up and growth companies, and it would undermine entrepreneurship. Another loser would be state governments.

only left wing economic idiots cannot understand this

These capital gains taxes COULD affect some flippers also. depending if flipped within a year or after a year.

it’s a concern no doubt.
imagine what could have been if the GOP candidate has spent any time beating the drum on stuff like this instead of whatever it is he did do and is now doing.

it is the leaders of govt’s responsibility to inform the electorate on shite like this. They blew it

But taking the necessary risk without the potential reward is just dumb, as are policies that punish these risk takers. I

had trump just played “taxman” on a continuous loop at his rallies instead of vomiting out catchphrases and insults he’d have done a better job of making his case

you cannot simultaneously dumb down the discourse and then expect the electorate to be informed about policy.

If communicating economic policy to the simple masses is what got leaders elected then Ross Perot would have been president.

Unless they start lifting the the eviction moratoriums, you are doing a tax write off.
