You know its a bad day when the only stock in my portfolio not red today is AMC.

77.1% only 4K shares to borrow. Holding above 10 on a very tough day

Negative... You didn't read my post

The business part of amc is completely disconnected from it's current share price
The share price is completely unrelated to the underlying business. I don't gamble

I read your post just fine. You didn't say anything about gambling or not shorting. You just gave your opinion on the future value of the stock which is fine with me. You seemed pretty confident in your post, if that level of confidence is gambling then not sure what you're investing in. But good luck too you.??

Not to answer for him, but there's what the stock SHOULD do based on its fundamentals, and there's what it COULD do based on morons who don't give a shite about fundamentals. Not something I'd be confident throwing my money at, either side (though I do have that one put which will likely expire worthless).

No I didn't. I said if the stock traded at it's pre pandemic levels it would be worth a dollar. That is based on its earnings versus the number of shares.
The comment was made in response to someone saying the business would improve once movies started coming back.
However currently amc is valued at many multiples of it's previous valuations.
So people going to the movies really has no bearing on stock price

This is a good read that pretty succinctly dismantles the misguided case of the reddit crowd.
The Full Story on AMC You Won't Hear From Retail Investors - Motley Fool
An excerpt on the valuation point
quote:
Following the release of its first-quarter operating results on May 6, shares of AMC moved higher to end last week at $9.51 a share. That's a mile away from its intraday high of $35.65 hit on Nov. 17, 2016. But because the company has issued so much stock and converted some of its debt to equity, it ended last week with a market cap of $4.28 billion. On Nov. 17, 2016, its market cap was $3.46 billion. Even though its share price has moved 73% lower, the company's valuation is actually 24% higher!

Motley Fool is in bed with Citadel and Melvin. They say whatever those HF’s tell them to say. Somewhere between apes on Reddit Hodling for 500k & Motley Fool is the real story on AMC.
What interesting right now as the market looks shaky is knowing you have communities of people who won’t sell, does the meme GME AMC stocks looks like safe havens?

Human psychology says that when a stock starts rising people start buying and when it starts falling people sell. With that being said what price per share do you guys think would start the catalyst for a buying frenzy? I think if it breaks the $15 mark we may see this light off. Just my guess.

It was down over 10% last week and the chatter on Reddit and Stocktwits AMC forums was “is pineapple a credible pizza topping”.
This has to be the most owned fund globally by people on the spectrum and those who just hope the world burns to the ground. It’s literally a spite play. I have no idea how it ends

You may be right. But retail thinks this is HF to HF swapping back and forth, aka manipulation for an overwhelming % of inflow/outflow.

Yet Zacks Ranks AMC as a hold at the share price of 10.36...
Here is the problem most people fail to get... the system is corrupt as sh!t!! Most all the talking heads and "information companies" are pushing an agenda. One site says one thing another site says another. Everyone uses fundamentals or projection or theories or whatever the hell they want to use to show why they are right. Most, if not all, are "sponsored" by someone and pushing an agenda. This goes for the Reddit, Discord, and whatever other chat room you want to frequent or Youtuber you want to watch as well. Everyone is just trying to get ahead.
No different than watching CNN or FoxNews... Good luck getting the entire unbiased story from either.
I say do your own research, make up your own mind, and do your own plays. If you get burned its on you... if you come out on top then good for you!

So it's only corrupt with regard to AMC, or every stock? If you think it's corrupt with regard to every stock, go take a seat next to Hussss over there.
If you think the system is just rigged against AMC, I don't know what to tell you.
Millions of people, myself included, have done quite well in the market over the long term.
