Just in case anyone missed the big news. The official float was announced afterhours during the earning report. What does that mean? THERE'S A shite-TON OF NAKED SHORTS THAT WILL HAVE TO BUY BEFORE CLOSE TOMMOROW!!! I'm talking hundreds of millions! If caught with a phantom shares, we are talking extremely, highly illegal. Pound me in the arse, federal prison!
So buckle up, if you thought today was a wild ride, you haven't seen nothing yet!
You don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re mixing terms. Float cannot be higher than outstanding shares.

The CEO reported that there are 450 million outstanding shares. Today, the OFFICIAL count will held due to the shareholders meeting and voting. Astute people have already pointed out that if the market cap is 3.3 billion, then there cannot be 450 million. The math does not work.
Therefore, that means there is a hundreds of millions of phantom shares created by naked shorting. Naked shorting is extremely illegal, because it is considered blatant market manipulation. In the process of doing the count, they will uncover this, UNLESS THOSE WITH PHANTOM SHARES BUY ACTUAL SHARES, then the count will be show the true amount of outstanding shares.

Explain it to me like I’m 5...
So according to legit numbers from the CEO, there are 450m shares that have to cover by close of business?
If so, why only up 8% after hours, seems like those would be all in right now

Like I said, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Market cap is based on the outstanding shares that are known about from the most recent filings and whatnot. Before the earning call yesterday the amount of outstanding shares that were known were around 340MM. Because of the conversions of different share classes AMC outstanding shares are now 450 million.
It has nothing to do with naked short selling and whatever you’re trying to confuse on here. If anything, the AMC shareholder going into yesterday found out they own even less of the company that they thought. Shares have been diluted once again, but I don’t expect you or the average WSB person to post anything other than PnD garbage.

AMC with another share dilution eh? (i said they'd do this a month ago)
and you're trying to spin this as a good thing? lord have mercy
that's almost as bad as the ocean coming in here every week and attempting to lie about how much he's making when anyone paying attention knows the very opposite is happening

According to the CFO:

Finally, before handing the call back over to Adam, there has been a lot of interest in the number of AMC shares that are currently outstanding. The total outstanding share count as of March 3, 2021, is 450.2 million shares.
That’s all they said on the matter. Some dope on WSB has been trying to spin this as something to excite longs, which is horse shite.

sounds like fidelity is full of shite in their price prediction and i should try to get out of this if the opportunity arises.
Posted on 3/11/21 at 7:54 am to finchmeister08
The Fidelity predicts a $900 price thing is more misinformation. They have never predicted a price anywhere near that or $600. Someone took a screenshot of those prices input into their probabilistic model, which gave something like a .05% probability of $900.
There's a lot of misinformation about this stock being very confidently posted here as factual. People reading this thread should be careful

Want some screenshots? I've made $20k off of AMC since all this started

To add to the AMC fun, I snagged some March 26 calls for the heck of it on Monday. The stock is up 6% and my calls are down 22%

IV crush. It collapsed after earnings.

Yep, thankfully I bought these calls fully expecting to lose money. I can never time this pump and dumps right, but I also can’t stop myself from trying

Posted on 3/11/21 at 10:36 am to AA7
I'm just getting into options, have traded covered calls, but still waiting on Fidelity to approve level 2. But I listen to different podcasts and read daily. That IV crush was the first thing I learned about!
Posted on 3/11/21 at 10:39 am to AA7
i'm hoping it will get back to at least $11 so i can back out.

Well, so far this had been one big dud. I hope I can refinance all the rims and tires I bought with money last night since today was bringing bags of money.
