Equifax said data on 143 million U.S. customers was obtained in a breach.

The breach was discovered July 29.

Personal data including birth dates, credit card numbers and more were obtained in the breach.

How much do you pay for lifelock?

How long until they get hacked?

Average breach is discovered 140 days after it happens. We would prob know by now if we got popped individually

yeah, the breach was discovered over a month ago. I love stock picks like these though. no doubt they will see downward momentum tomorrow.

any good "off the grid" stocks? Does gold go up when confidence in tech security goes down?

I went to their website and typed in my last name and last 6 of social. Said I was likely not affected.

I just went to their website and saw they charge $21.95 to monitor my credit. At this price I'm a cash only guy

You can check to see if you were part of the breach here.

They're offering some free credit monitoring services to those potentially impacted by the breach. Personally, I was clear, but my wife was not so we signed her up.

If you go to there site LINK to supposedly see if your info, SS number was a part of this. it gives enrollment in complimentary identity theft protection and credit file monitoring. I did it and it says come back 11 Sept.

If I didn't get a special message does this mean I am in the clear and can still get their identity check?

It tells you before it gives you an enrollment date if you were affected. Unfortunately, I got the "We believe you may have been affected" message on the page right before my enrollment date.

Damn, I got a "yes" as well.

My credit card information was stolen randomly about a month ago which makes me wonder if it was related to this. Someone started buying $200 gift cards to Sonic

Cause the slimy jerks are hoping you forget to come back. Notice that they say that you will not get any reminders.
