For weeks on Wall Street, markets were unusually subdued as President Donald Trump threatened to discard the post-World War II order by asserting US dominance over the Western hemisphere — including by military force. But with his drive to take over Greenland, the territory of NATO ally Denmark, he has thrown the transatlantic alliance into further disarray. And markets are responding.

I read a report the other day that January is a big month for retail investors and most of that ends up buying tech and S&P type ETFs. That would make sense with a lot of people making IRA contributions at the beginning of the year. The report also said that historically there is a big pullback from retail investors that peaks (inverse peak I guess) in mid February.

Dow is back up close to the record high. Axios says we're still in an economic danger zone.

Apparently Ole Miss doesn't teach what the definition of "recession" is but a recession has nothing to do with the stock market's ups and downs.

So in your mind "fear porn" is posting what the futures are overnight and saying it's a buying opportunity?

You're just pissed Kiffen dumped Ole Miss in favor of LSU in the middle of a championship playoff run. That must hurt to know Ole Miss sucks that much...

I think most of Fareplay's wealth has been transferred from equities to run flat tires.

Financial websites believe it's because of Trump's latest tariff threats against Europe over Greenland.

I'm just amazed at how supposedly "smart" people don't understand Trump's tactics around his arts of the deal. He always starts with extreme demands then ends up softening once he gets what he wants. It's been a very successful strategy for him and for those of us who haven't pulled out of the market.

Let us just say you have a certain type of posting style the appears during the negative times. What Stout is to the OT, you are to here.

You have a good side, you helped LSUGrrrl big time back in 2007.

I don’t mean to sound rude buy 280k is only 7%. i should have just said 7% moved to cash on 1/6. I can hold for about a year, then I’ll DCA back in if required.
