We were due for a pullback. Nasdaq at an all time high. All of the reopening stocks moved way too high too quick.

I don't think covid really has much to do with it.

While the news about spikes in certain states didn't helped, most seem to agree that it was Powell's speech yesterday, along with the less than stellar initial claims number this morning, that put the brakes on and kicked it into reverse. The market sold off late yesterday during and after his speech.

But yeah, the market (especially certain sectors) was way overbought. It's the severity of the move that's caught some off guard.

and it angers me because investors should know better than to blindly trust headlines without investigating further.

But yet we turn a blind eye to why everything went up the past few weeks? I mean, there wasn't much substance to see such a rapid rise in the market the past few weeks.

Sorry, but I've not seen or heard a single pro trader or anyone in the investment community make that claim.

So you think that it's 100% to do with something that was on TV or in the newspapers, and nothing to do with Jerome Powell's speech? Did some covid related news come out around 3:00 yesterday that I missed?

its almost like we have increased the national debt by 2trillion in only 2 months

i do think the fed will continue with the inflation money printer, so a crash is coming (who knows when but i dont consider today a crash)

then once deflation sets in, we will have a depression.

we are between a rock and a hard place.

I’m holding everything through Nov. After the presidential election one of two things happens:

Trump wins and this bullshite goes away And we get back to gains and booms.

Trump loses and American currency becomes worthless anyway

I sold everything I had except MSFT. I'm not giving these people a dime of my gains. I may go all in on MAR if it gets low enough.

Buying more unplanned VTI and VXUS to add to the portfolio today. Wanted to put a little powder in during the current correction.

You sold today.

So you did indeed give "these people a dime" of your gains

Looking like somebody hooked a boat anchor to the market. Didn't take long for the Dow to go from -1450 to -1650. Still an hour and 15 minutes to go. The selling waves keep coming in fast and hard.

I'm guessing it's going to make a run for -1700 by the close.
