Would make sense. Especially after hearing Exxon had hired away some of their best chemical engineers.

On the Chemical Engineers subject, was anyone else aware that SLI has a 2 time Nobel Prize winner in chemistry on their team?

Barry Sharpless, one of 5 people to win 2 Nobel Prizes. Thought that was pretty cool.

They did announce a successful field-pilot for SWA earlier this year so maybe there will be something more like this in East Texas and not a full-scale pilot like what's at Lanxess?
3/11/25 field pilot PR

Hopefully I can fill out my position before the Texas and DFS announcements come after I tanked my spec portfolio a couple of months ago by selling some SLI and buying more ORGN

$3.00 Next big pull back, I'm going to add about 25k more shares.

That should help it hold.

Hawg, you’ve been loading up on shares like a champ !!

I'd guess you probably hold more shares than the rest of us combined

It's not much, but I'd sure like to see the existing pilot plant producing and sell their tons of lithium. That would put a nice spike of cement into the market sand.

I don't think they can for whatever reason. That was the original plan. It may not be worth it with the current lithium prices. Would be a good question for investor relations. It seems like there may be something to do with Lanxess as it's their brine. It may be that the 100-200 tons it would produce isn't worth it at current prices.

They can’t sell lithium from the pilot plant because there’s no royalty set for that area. The royalty that Standard got is specifically for their Reynolds Unit, which is in SWA territory

That's right. Couldn't remember what it was.

I find that HIGHLY interesting and very encouraging.

I've been in since 2021 and still really don't have that many shares. Always been slightly afraid that this just won't ever come to fruition.

I need to buy more.

Whats everyone’s thoughts? Are we on a steady slow climb now, or when they announce FID do we rocket towards 10.00?

I think the only way we get to $10 in the near future is multiple interest rate cuts, lithium prices up and market FOMO. If we hit $10 by the end of the year, I'll probably sell my long term shares and hope for a big pull back to reacquire shares. The only way I see us hitting $10 and holding is cost of the build out comes in significantly lower than expected and the east Texas project is even bigger than expected. That $billion potential shelf offering isn't exactly a positive factor. It may not be as big of a negative factor if interest rates come down and they announce they are using it to get the east Texas facility online much sooner than expected.

So...I don't know.

SLI now has two former Albemarle execs on board.

“Guy also restated what I'd heard about Albermarle giving up on extraction. 3rd time wasn't a charm. Apparently they're going to focus on their traditional lithium mines and partner with someone for extraction if/when they decide to get into it.”

Interesting. I did not know that. Lanxess is struggling. I could see someone buy them out on the cheap if things keep spiraling down. The Germans have just run it poorly. Wonder if SLI has plans to get into the bromine business at some point? Would be funny if SLI or one of their partners ended up with Lanxess.

I remember there being commercial levels of bromine (and potash) at the East Texas leases so Standard will need a relationship with someone in the bromine world..

I remember back when you and I were racing towards a # of shares. You won!

I ended up selling all of mine but started accumulating again a couple of months ago. I have a handful now and will buy another handful soon but I’ve been pouring all my extra money into NBIS the last few months.

SLI has just been so stagnant until recently and I had pretty much given up hope.
