It certainly looks like it wants to but $2.00 has been massive, massive resistance. Gonna be tough.

I'm thinking about harvesting some tax loss with my SLI and want to time it up. I'm down about $13k overall, and apparently I can't buy back in for 30 days to avoid the wash sale rule. Given the pace of news and progress with this thing I'm guessing I'm not going to miss a big pop but figured I'd check with the people who are most likely to know.
Thoughts?

I think you should sell because the SLI gods dont move this thing without a blood sacrifice.
Take one for the team so this thing can leap another 12% in a day.

Just don't buy back in for more like I did.

Man it's so hard to time it.
I'd give it a week or two just because we are so close to breaking $2 which is huge technical resistance. If it breaks that, it could have a technical run up to ~$2.50-$2.60 with no news over the course of a week. That would be the sell target for short term.
Outside of that potential move, it is expected to be a bit of a dead period til Q4 so probably not a bad time to sell. DFS should be complete by late Q3/early Q4, then FID is expected late Q4.
Always risk of selling early though. Market cap is currently just under $400M. This company has over $30M in cash and zero debt, along with large partnerships from major companies and federal grants. It is undervalued, period. Outside of that fundamental, you've got potential news that could drop any time, such as prepays and offtake agreements, or some East Texas project economics to get people excited. Along with the potential for the lithium market to start rising, which, though unlikely in the short term, is what caused the last insane run.
But in general yeh, I'd say wait a week or two to see if we have a $2 technical run then probably comfortable to sell til late September.
Edited cash so as to not mislead folks, my bad.

do they really have 300 million in cash? When I look at the interim financials, I don't see that much. Doesn't change my Polish position at this point, but I just wanted to see if I was missing something.

According to their May management presentation to investors they do.
I'm assuming they are now including the DOE grant money.
March management presentation shows $31M in cash, which is what the Q1 fins show. May shows $316M
ETA: Just kidding, I'm an idiot - SLI's font uses the smallest decimals in history. 31.6 million. Stupid decimals.

I think everyone of us need to buy a little at 2.05 so that we can help get it over the $2 hill.

Trading 4 decimal places out right now to keep it under $2, insane.

This feels eerily similar to the 2021 build-up. The funny thing is that even if you bought this 5 years ago and held it all the way to today, you would still be up 173%. That isn't a bad 5 year return.
