I also found it interesting that they're planning to bring brine from SWA to the commercial DLE column and see how the flowsheet responds.

Wonder if that will play any role in the SWA FEED and DFS?

They can scale the original product down if they need to use resources elsewhere. The big deal there is all the infrastructure in place and it would be the fastest to production. That will allow them to refine and optimize before and as they build out SWA and east Texas.

It’s been a ride! I’m green at $1.60

The crypto gains I would have made had I sold at $12 :’(

How do I lend out shares on fidelity? I meet all the requirements

ETA: website says
“Once enrolled, there are no extra steps. All eligible securities in your account, now or in the future, will be considered for borrowing based on demand in the lending market.”

Ya you just have to enroll and then it's up to Fidelity at that point. I've been enrolled in Schwab, but none of my shares have been lent out for several months now. They were for a while before the recent dry spell.

Yeh I’m not sure how they “prioritize” what/whose shares get leant out.

Mine all got returned on the 7th and are starting to go back out now but still only about a third are out. Rate is down around 7% too. Still not bad, but I’d like 20% again at $5/share.

Just listened to the fireside chat where Water Tower Research interviewed CFO Salah Gamoudi and all I can say is in terms of speaking, I'd vote for him over Mintak as CEO without hesitation. Either way, glad things are progressing

PS He did say that they are aiming for 1H 2025 for SWA DFS completion.

1H 2025 is great news.. wonder why he was able to share that when Robinson stated he can't commit to H1 or H2 in the earnings call?

After seeing the Equinor deal, listening to the earnings call and the fireside chat, I’m more confident on the prospects of this company than I have been at any point since I bought my first shares. I’m having a hard time not liquidating some of my other holdings and throwing it all in on SLI.

Can someone explain these numbers from Slide 9 of the new management deck and what this means for SP, as compared to the numbers Mike put out?

Just FYI, finally got the chance to go through the deck.

I think the valuation numbers that SLI put out jive with my earlier estimates pretty closely. I'd say all are in agreement.

SLI's numbers only included real valuations of the current transactions, though. My 'loftier' numbers were estimates of implied value based on future projects and investments. SLI can't put numbers like that into an investor deck because it's just too speculative to be covered under 'forward-looking statements' protections. Maybe after DFS is done on one of those projects, and almost certainly after an FID is made, they could then speak to implied valuations closer to what my latter projections were.

Looking at lithium prices over the last five years is like a crazy rollercoaster. Up 600% and now back to earth.

Absolute worst case scenario, SLI just got a $160M investment for 45% of the company. That's a $350 mil valuation which should put the share price over $2. So if you're reading this in the most pessimistic way possible, share price should still be 60% higher. In reality, SLI just got $160M (with $30M cash up front) to fund near term operations and development that is no strings attached. No repayment, no interest, no nothing. It's a good faith down payment. Equinor will fund 45% of the capex for SWA Ark ($600M) and 45% of the capex for East TX (who knows, probably represents north of $1B extremely conservatively). That basically represents a back of the napkin $2B investment for 45% of the company assuming success, or a valuation of 4.4 billion. $25/share.

For reference, SLI’s published implied valuation of the deal was $300M

Just tried to figure out where our discrepancy was and it looks like SLI’s valuation discounts the $60M for the workplan as those are project payments. SLI only owns 55% of the projects so technically only realize $33M of the $60M commitment. So SLI will see $133M from this deal, not $160. Pre-FID.

If AOGC ends up setting an obnoxiously high royalty rate like 10%, do you folks think SWA will be financially viable?
I think someone from SLI quoted before AOGC that 1A will not be viable at that high royalty rate.

It's hard to tell what is posturing and what isn't. 10% would be obnoxiously high and seemingly out of line with most commodities.

Time for the "3.5% royalties on an active DLE project beating 10% of nothing" speech.
