Could be they've already declined their option to purchase the lithium.

That seems to imply they aren't going to be buying the lithium either.

Had a couple huge lucky hits during COVID that I actually managed to get out of at great profits

All in all I'm up a decent amount on my super high risk speculative plays because of the COVID luck. Take that insanity out and I'm down pretty big. Y'all stop taking my advice.

the EV news the past few weeks has been really negative and macro US working against the future trend. But politics will keep pushing this

Yeah, EV's are having some teething pains. Every manufacturer going headlong into EV's while the market is not really that strong and the infrastructure is not really there too. Add to that, cost of insurance with not so major damage to a battery resulting in the car being totaled, lower resale value and high cost of battery replacement.

I guy I know really wanted to buy a BMW EV, but he lived in a rental apartment in a 60 year old building. Charging it on 110 volts was going to take 40 hours.

I guess we'll see a news release after-market today or before market opens on Monday?

My guess is after they finish this $50million fundraiser.

Met with them today. The timeline I was given was late 2024 for actual construction of the plant. Site prep will begin in early 2024. Production early 2026.

More and more local rumors that Exxon will be using SLI DLE. I'm not making any moves based on rumors, but they are coming from people higher up in the oil and gas food chain around here.

I will be increasingly involved with them over the next year and will be on site from time to time. Supposed to have a meeting with corporate and tour the current facilities after the first of the year.

Beginning with partner/agreement PR, things should start moving for SLI before too long.

So Lanxess has opted out of participating in the project and the offtake. I understand not wanting to participate, but it has never crossed my mind that they wouldn't exercise their right to discounted offtake. This should be great in the SLI short term since it paves the way for new partnership announcement. Would have been interesting to hear Lanxess' internal deliberations behind this decision.

Curious what you get from IR on this.

It's a good question. Mintak's answer seems to be "derisking through Koch's performance guarantees" since the scale up is still 60x current production rate.

As an SLI owner, I'm convinced (lol) of this logical chain

1. SLI and Koch tech were invented by the same guy-Craig Brown (true)
2. These two techs are the most efficient available DLE for Smackover (please be true)
3. Koch's tech is marginally more efficient, so SLI goes with it (true)
4. Exxon would like to go with Koch's tech (please be true), but can't since SLI has exclusive Smackover rights to Koch's tech (true)
5. Therefore, Exxon goes with its second best option, SLI's tech (mixer)

Exxon developed the lithium battery

Why do we think they would go into the arkansas play without a means to extract the lithium?

Fwiw. I saw a post on LinkedIn where one of the XOM employees commented on the article about XOM announcing the lithium play in Ark.. the comment was something to the effects "yes! Been working on this for years. Excited to see this commercialiIng"

I don't think exxon needs SLI
