I drove through El Dorado a few weeks ago on my way to Heber Springs for some trout fishing. I was trying to find the pilot plant on Google Maps but it just kept leading me to a Best Quality Vacuum store

So, I got moved from TD to Schwab, and they say I need $100k to qualify for securities lending now. That sucks! Vanguard is the same way apparently. Any brokers out there that don't require such a huge sum? Thanks

If you're referring to a fully paid lending program, Etrade is by far the best I've found and I don't believe there's any minimum necessary for loaning out your shares.

I own the same company in three different brokerages: IB, Fidelity and Etrade and Etrade has by far the most aggressive lending desk so they do a good job matching shares to shorts.

eTrade's policy is Fully Paid Lending is only available for brokerage cash accounts and IRAs with a minimum of $200,000 of assets under management or Liquid Net Worth for accounts associated with your user-id.

What would be the effect on the stock when SLI sells its first ton of lithium?

The Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission would sue them into bankruptcy for not paying someone $0.17 in mineral rights

So based on SLI's October 18th feasibility filing Lanxess has until around December 2nd to make a decision? Lanxess has an earnings release today and they had already said on Monday they expect to reduce dividends and cut guidance.

Forgone conclusion they will not be part of this project funding moving forward?

This is how I understood what Standard told me during our last discussion, but I am frankly not confident in my interpretation of what was said. I really need to shoot them an email and ask for clarification.

Would be nice if they made a decision and the earnings release sparks the next wave of moves.

95%+ they are out. From my last chat, I was told it is very much a matter of 'when' they opt out, not 'if'. Circumstances can always change, but I think it's a done deal.

Gonna feel real dumb when we get a PR saying Lanx is going halfsies with them.

I'd say more like 99.99% chance they opt out. They don't have the money and are making cuts everywhere.

It looked like they knew what they were doing when they took things over, but the last 3 years they have been shitting the bed.

Seems like our criteria are:

-Household US name
-Not in the chemical business
-Not in the water treatment business

So not Albemarle. Not Tetra. Is Exxon our only guess at this point?

Exxon is very much in the chemicals business.
XOM Chemical

I don't even have a solid guess at this point. Are they forced to go alone on this initial part? Secure funding themselves? That's where I'm leaning.

My hope is with Laxs out of the way, maybe....just maybe things will start to happen with more urgency. Doubt it, but we can always hope.

Side note: The lead time on most equipment has not gotten significantly shorter since 2021, still lots of source problems. Most projects are delayed for a multitude of reasons upstream. If/when they get to that point, then plan on them missing the target start dates I've seen them throw around. We all know them missing a target date would shock us.

Where did the last two criteria come from?

If true, someone wants a lot of lithium but doesn't make chemicals or do water treatment. Seems like a car manufacturer or tech co. Didn't apple want to get into autonomous electric vehicles? They have a lot of cash...

I spoke to someone who bid the project. They went with a different contractor stating their schedule was not aggressive enough.
