Looks like SLI exercised the option in 3Q. From Tetra's earnings call today: "Finally, in the third quarter, we received notice from Standard Lithium exercising the lithium extraction option in the identified acreage outside of the approved brine unit, consistent with our 2017 agreement."
Might be why SLI released it today, to wait for Tetra's earnings.

Also from Tetra's earnings transcript re their option agreement with SLI: "TETRA's illustrative royalties would be $22.5 million per year based on our 2.5% royalty on gross lithium revenues, without any investments required by TETRA."

That could be us in a couple of years with all that bromine and potash at our East Texas interests...

Doing the math here... that's $900 million in revenue/year on the SLI side

You loan out the shares you own to the institution (Schwab, Fadelity, etc) at a defined interest rate.

The institution then loans the same shares to a buyer(s) also at a % of the value loaned from you. It's profit for the institution and for you as the actual owner of the shares.

The buyer is using these loaded shares (or securities) for short selling activities, so they assume the risk and stand to make a large profit,

It's passive income for you the lender as long as you hold the stock and there is a demand on the short sell market. catch 22 though... Demand on the short market could mean bad performance on your account overall.

This thread is going to be a lot different a year from now. More like the old days.

I hope so, I know everyone has different expectations, but would it help if we all commiserated on an exit plan?

For anyone savvy in Google Earth go look at the site pic from 2015, 2022, and then October 2023. There has been some progress.

33.112788°
-92.673230°

October 2023 is not as easy to find, but it's there.

Anyone still in on this name?

We've had quite the run-up from $0.69 per share. Share price is currently sitting at $1.05.

Could the rise in price correlate to insider buying proving that the demonstration plant is operating as predicted?

This can't be a pump an dump, the relationship with Laxness is too legit.

How convinced is everyone that the lanxess project even happens? It’s small potatoes compared to the other options and the lowest % lithium concentrations.

is there even a demand for that lithium? It seems like it would be nothing but a proof of concept at larger scale

Only other thing to note about lending shares, is that in most cases you do not retain your voting rights on lent shares.

Schwab lending payout just hit the account. Pretty good income that beats the kick in the nuts that I had been getting before.
