where are my insiders to let me know what all of this means?

Exxon Mobil in talks with Tesla, Ford to supply lithium

Exxon Mobil had agreed last month to develop more than 6,100 lithium-rich acres in Arkansas with Tetra Technologies Inc (TTI.N), the second move this year by the oil giant for control of assets needed to produce the electric-vehicle battery metal.
Its rapid expansion into the lithium sector comes amid growing interest from traditional energy companies and others into emerging technologies that aim to boost global supply of the ultralight metal.

Means we should have been buying Tetra

It's too bad that Lanxess has dibs on the lithium from the Lanxess project. Otherwise we might have had a nice Tesla/Ford/GM offtake PR by now.
Man, it sounds like the SWA offtake is also spoken for by Koch Minterals & Trading.
I guess all we have left are these upcoming reports and construction and possible expansion?

I believe the question of the moment is what process is Exxon and Tetra going to use to extract the lithium from their bromine?
SLI has been testing both their own LISTR process and Koch's LiPro process. I believe the agreement with Koch provides SLI with exclusive rights to use the Li-Pro process in the Smackover Formation (if it turns out better than the LISTR process), which I think covers the Exxon and Tetra mineral properties along with SLI's East Texas mineral properties.
So if Lanxess takes the offtake from their projects, Koch takes the offtake from the SW Ark project, and IF SLI gets the contract to extract the lithium for the Exxon/Tetra mineral properties with Tesla and Ford taking the offtake.... then that would be good news in my opinion. Just hopeful speculation at this point.
Does anyone have any info regarding which extraction process Exxon and Tetra plan to use?

I wonder if it is too late to start building a Tetra position? I have one but it's miniscule compared to SLI position.

Yeesh. Tetra gained 15% in after hours trading today.

Tetra reported greatly improved earnings after close.

these delays were extremely annoying in the past. But with lots of PR coming from Exxon, right next door, this delay feels ominous.

Tetra is one of the brine experts in the O&G world.
Definitely feeling like we chose the right race but the wrong pony.
Hopefully a rising tide will lift all boats.

Its really beginning to feel like they had no intention of building a plant and just wanted to be bought out by a big dog. Maybe Chevron?

Assuming Mintak is dragging his feet hoping for a buyer, do the delays diminish sli’s value in favor of competitors?

Right ta ta, wrong ho ho ?

I'm not saying I'm not nervous, but Honestly, it feels like SLI is wrapped up in all of this. They have been specifically tailoring their process for Smackover brine. I don't really hear much about any other DLE companies with these news reports.

I have not done the extensive research as some on here but check this board often. To me it seems like to much going on in the area around them all of sudden and for them not to have something going on. Only time will tell though...

Well, depending on the definition of "early 3Q," we're either late on reporting the DFS (again), or we've got 2 more weeks before the halfway mark of 3Q, at which point it is most definitely no longer "early 3Q"
Mid $4s have been resistance for almost a year now. A good PR could finally push us past that and next resistance isn't until mid $6s. If we can finally break the 4s it'll look like we've got a cup and handle pattern forming on the 5 year chart.

I also don’t like SLI filing for a $250M shelf offering, when their neighbors seem to be making deals with big boys that don’t need to raise more cash.

Mintak mentioned possible partnership with an energy company at the Jan 6 EV conference but Exxon and Tetra have obviously not made a final decision on the DLE process yet. I have looked more closely at IBAT but my bet is still on SLI . I think we are at the tipping point for info regarding lithium extraction from the Smackover formation. Wishing everyone much success as the final decisions and reports are released.

Yep, I just hope we are vindicated shortly. If this DFS is a let down, I'm going to move the majority of my position to other plays.

Do we know how they plan to spend the money to be raised from the shelf offering?
Never mind - I found the Use of Proceeds section in the Prospectus. I was hoping to see the exercise of options on the 35,000 acres of Tetra mineral properties, but that wasn't mentioned in the Prospectus.
