The market is down 1.5%. SLI is down 10%. One of those is not like the other.

The things causing the downturn tend to be worse on growth stocks but yea SLI is taking it on the chin

I also wish they wouldn't get distracted by "carbon capture" or any academic fiddling around.

I don't think that's the case and it could be big financially with carbon credits. Best to integrate it now than try to retro fit later. Hopefully it'll also prioritize them for some of that free domestic lithium production money they keep teasing us with.

Yeah, growth and speculative stocks are in for tough sledding for the 1st 1/2 of 2022.

Ramen noodles aren’t too bad. Put a little Sriracha in it and it’s like you’re at a restaurant. I’m buying more SLI.

I got discount cat food from the Chinese store because I can’t afford fancy Walmart anymore. I don’t know what flavor it is because the writing is in Chinese but it’s a lot chewier and more meaty than the American stuff

I really wish the demo plant was producing finished product.

I've seen you say this several times, and I understand your sentiment, and you're probably right that it would help the current stock price.

That said, it would take a team dedicated to making an end product of out of what is comparatively teaspoons of product relative to the project. And going to the state of Arkansas and to EPA (feds) right now and saying hey, can we sell a little right now would probably be perceived as a waste of everyones's time.

The permit might be relatively a "formality", but don't underestimate the time, money and "real" projections that have to go into permit applications. People make good livings doing nothing but this all day, every day.

The reality is, it's just too early to get permits for a lemonade stand when you plan on building bottling factories.

ETA: Also have to throw in the manpower/engineering/equipment to get to an end product at the current rates.

I too, wish today's stock price was higher, but they really need to focus on beating others to commercial production versus worrying about $12.00 shares.

I hope everyone realizes they are a ways away from production. They are only in pre-FEED, 3 years before production.

If they can get the lawsuits over with, LAC will likely start production from their Thacker Pass (Nevada) operation within the next year.

It's not "green" lithium, it's being mined from clay deposits, but the market is so desperate for lithium that no one will care about that (in the short term at least).

Maybe you're right, but seems like a stretch to infer that they will be in production this year in Thacker, from LAC's site:

quote:

The Company achieved a key milestone with the receipt of a Record of Decision (ROD) from the US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) on January 15, 2021. The ROD represents the final material permit for the Thacker Pass Project at a national level.
In February 2021, claims were filed against the BLM to appeal the issuance of the ROD for Thacker Pass. The Company has been advised of a hearing date set for Q1 2022.
Early-works construction is expected to commence in 2022, following the receipt of remaining state permits and water right transfers, and resolution of the appeal. Early-works includes site access and preparation, water line and additional infrastructure to condense and de-risk the overall construction schedule.

How is this still going down lol

I kind of feel like an idiot for all the times I missed good chances to get out of this mess of a company

ETA: do we think it’ll ever get to 8 again?

I just disappointed in the pace of development. It's been a year since the proofs of concept were completed and the modular design should make scaling up easier.

It's a case of striking while the iron is hot.

FYI, for those not reading or listening yesterday, here is a link to watch Mintak's interview with BOA. You will have to give your email and such to listen.

Pretty good discussion of where they are, challenges for them (and everyone else), the future predictions.

The Koch purchase definitely helps provide a strong floor, but I'm just not seeing what catalysts are there in the near term to get us much above this floor. It shouldn't take years to get a commercial plant going.
