SLI has back up plans by now.
The shelf offering. Let's say the tech works but Lanxess wants to slow play the build out and SLI has to use shelf offering to speed things along, what does the stock price do? I think absolute proof of the tech working on a commercial scale should send it upwards, but that may be a year or two before production begins.

Wonder what the costs of moving the pilot plant and sift on to tetra property would be.
The galvanic partnership may still be in play as well.
Unless there is a kink in the technology, it makes little sense for lanxness to be adverse to this while making those other plays

Not to mention the closure on Aug 3rd of Emerald Kalama Chemical. They spread themselves out too thin this year.
I think this is correct.

It's not moving. It doesn't produce enough to warrant the cost and risk pissing off Lanxess.

It appears that Lanxess believes in the tech, but while COVID had SLI stymied and they're so anal about having their 3 months of data, they went and spent their money on 2 acquisitions. It's like someone investing in a CD to get a surefire, safe return and passing up buying stocks in strong companies during market crash. Business people aren't always good at business. I think Lanxess is fine with bringing it along slowly. I think they are more scared to lose a little money than they are willing to make a shite ton.
I think it works out in the end, but not as fast as we hoped or it'll take dilution of shares with shelf offering. Maybe SLI will pull a rabbit out of their arse, but right now they are at the mercy of Lanxess. The whole thing that makes it go it taking the low hanging fruit from Lanxess production and parlaying that revenue into Tetra and other projects.

True. But that appears to not be the case. That was speculation and nothing released by SLI and some hoping.
In July they were talking this year:

I’m on board and bullish, but the way they are dragging their feet with this is a sure fire way to get leap frogged by someone else with this tech. I get it that they’re in a prime location but the cats out of the bag now with what’s going on in this lithium/EV/ESG world.
This is no longer a marathon, it’s a race.

I wonder If this is the reason for the earnings delays. not able to finalize things with Lanxess

The wildcard may be the shelf offering and other interested partners. SLI needs money to proceed. Lanxess needs SLI's tech.
How about another add on alternative for some of the funding?
Lake Resources - llkkf offered bonus options for existing shareholders to help fund the company. Just a thought...

My bad. I misread your post. Yes, the JV has been expected in Q4. I got my hopes up due to some of the action at the sites and not any specific mention of the JV being announced . Or final investment decision by Lanxess I should say. Technically the joint venture is in place, it's whether or not and how much Lanxess is willing to fund at this point.

All the action at the site had me a little concerned that it was more dog and pony show to convince someone of something vs dotting i's.
Granted everytime is seems like shite with this stock, Mintak comes through

That's the deal. My gut tells me to lock in some profits before the end on the year on long term gains, BUT Mintak does always seem to have a nice surprise up his sleeve. I was hoping for a little reassurance at least from Lanxess, but instead we got the opposite. It's like your best friend having a crazy bitch of a wife.

Someone was saying that they need 3 months of data and they could have started as late as September so maybe it wouldn't be done until the end of November? And the analysis and everything else leading up to the JV in December?
That will still be Q4 of this year and technically still on time. Maybe we all got our panties wet a little early because of the earnings call and the site cleanups and what have you. Perhaps there still is time this year for the JV?
Fingers crossed on that!

Infrastructure bill passed, how much of an affect are we expecting?

frick yes, I’m ready for the Monday bounce.

Only thing that concerns me is losing market share if we don’t jump back on the “green wave”.

Just saw on Stocktwits that a Mintak interview will be posted on Tuesday. Username was Disrupting, who is somehow affiliated with this Rob McCammon guy who is a big lithium poster on Twitter. Hopefully they ask better questions than Cramer!
Weird, his post got deleted on Stocktwits about it, but I’ll keep a lookout for it on the disrupting website on Tuesday.

I finally got a chance to listen to the Lanxess call from Friday (the second one, not the annual report call), and if you forward to 1:09:00 an analyst from Goldman asks about standard lithium. At about 1:10:15 their CEO starts to comment, something to the effect of "Sometimes you can't disclose things due to an ongoing analysis and finalization of agreements, and adhering to legal constraints. For that very reason I can't communicate about it right now, If it changes in the future where we can talk about it, then we will."
