Tesla makes the headlines so we can definitely ride them to the moon. But to get to Mars we need to get the contract for who will be the leaders in EV production, GM, Ford etc.

Agreed. Considering how many fan boys Elon/Tesla has, if some kind of agreement with them is announced, this thing will sky rocket temporarily...giving us all a great opportunity to sell and buy back in with a larger position as the social media exuberance wears off and the price drops.

This will be and is TSLA. They are too far ahead on production for anyone to catch up anytime soon.

I won't be surprised if Tesla winds up using as much lithium on their power side in grid backup stations as they do in the auto side. There's an awful lot of substations around this country.

Musk seems to be less interested than ever in tesla and more interested in all his other endeavors mainly spacex.
They are on a downward trajectory of market share. It is near inevitable imo, despite the lead that they have, that they will be a minority producer eventually. Still, they will be trendsetters for a while, everyone will note how tesla does something, before even brainstorming how to do something themselves from principles. They probbaly have another 3 to 4 years of being dominant. Tesla is also leaking directors left and right to competitors.

As it effects standard lithium, and a hype pop, tesla would still be the best headline.

Downward trend? For Tesla?

Well over 1 million preorders for cyber trucks, like 1.3 last I saw.

The margin between them and others, not total units.

I'm not hating on tesla, I still have a little TSLA; I'm thinking that the company will pivot into proprietary technology and software related cashflows as we go, which is still nothing but great for STHLF. It was more just a comment on their current market share going forward.

When the baws start buying electric F-150s, Ford will become the highest lithium consumer. Truck nuts drag on a cyber truck

I think you’re underestimating the lead they have in producing EV vehicles. Do you realize how much of a pivot it will be for a Ford/GM to transition production plants from ICE to EV lines? Vastly different Production process, especially compared to what TSLA already has in place BEFORE Giga Texas and Giga Berlin come online by the end of the year.

Giga Texas is/will be the largest building in the US and the second largest in the world by volume. Do you think F or GM will match their production anytime soon?

This is (and will be) true if you refer to the percentage of the EV (but not the total auto) market. More competition is entering the (EV but not really the total auto production) game.

But this is only part of the market. If Ford, GM, VW, etc sell fewer ICE and more EV that doesn't hurt Tesla unless it takes sales away from Tesla.

As things stand right now that seems to be a non issue. Tesla's barrier to selling more cars right now is their production line. People still want to buy more cars than Tesla can produce.

I wouldn’t turn an F150 Lightning down right now and I work in the oil industry. This thing is going to be a winner, and people who would’ve never bought an F150 before will be customers. An added plus is it’s a really good looking normal truck, unlike Elon’s futuristic space mobile.

I just think traditional carmakers will do the car part better. Tesla's are awesome, and I was damn near close to getting one because I commute 40 miles to and from work everyday, most of it in a straight line; but then I sat in one; and the interiors leave a lot to be desired for the price point compared to legacy automakers; feels kinda cheap for a 100k vehicle. You can't underestimate that part of an automobile and the function it performs. Tesla's are still cool as hell, and the technology is lightyears ahead of anything else; that's why the company is valued the way it is, and I'm not arguing with that.

The software difference will be there for a decade if TSLA plays it right and that's why I still own the stock; but the car itself? Other companies can steal every engineer Tesla has, but they cant get their data. Does the average person care about that when they are buying their car?

The charging thing is a whole other story I don't feel like getting into.

I just hope LITHIUM is the battery of choice for 15-20 years.

It's a bad mf'er. I pre-ordered one. A tri-motor. Never thought I'd have an EV. Quite a contrast to my F250 Tremor. But it's stainless steel, bullet proof, 0-60<2.9 sec and it floats!!!! And that's just what we know it'll do. And the wife wanted the electric atv that is an option.

14,000 of towing. Piss on an F150

Yeah I have a dual motor on order. Can’t beat locking in FSD for $10K. It’ll be a 100K vehicle, had for $60K.

My reservation is for a dual motor Cybertruck. I think I’m about #90,000 in line, although probably at least half of those will drop out when it actually comes time to buy the truck. Locked in FSD for $7K at the time.

It would be only fitting... the Tri motor model for the #1 holder here and the dual motor model for the #2 holder here.
