The only way to learn about blockchain and crypto is to just dig in, start reading or watching videos. It really helps if you already find it interesting.

I’ve posted that I believe in the blockchain technology and even invest in it.

I wouldn’t own bitcoin tho.

Do you accept bitcoin as currency for services or goods?

If so, what do you exchange it for to realize it’s value. I bet it’s the US dollar

I am 100% certain the underlying technology can support some revolutionary changes in society.

Not as a defacto currency per se, tho that will certainly continue to be a use case.

Which of thousands will become the google of web3? F if I know.

In the meantime, i’ll keep making stacks on it while some people continue calling it tulips for the 12 year in a row. My only regret being one of those retards for the first 7 years of BTC existence.

What are you investing in in this sector?

Most of the ETFs containing blockchain oriented companies have gotten hit significantly harder than Bitcoin, I know this from experience

BITQ is down like 90% from ATH

Why? Because it was first? Because of brand name?

What makes it better than Ethereum?

I don't buy any of it. I subscribe to the greater fool theory.

But I don't understand why most people think Bitcoin is the slam dunk...what's so much better about it than any other coin? Probably not the technology...since bitcoin can take an hour on average to process a transaction

Right. I'd rather use something that takes hours to update (blockchain) than seconds (relational databases).

Bitcoin and ethereum do completely different things. This is day 1 of research type stuff. Your opinions are based on very shallow knowledge…wouldn’t it be easier to just say you don’t care about crypto?

A couple things-

comparing bitcoin to ethereum is like comparing Visa to a plot of land somewhere. Not really comparable. They do very different things.

Also, sure bitcoin “can take” an hour to process. However it doesn’t and in most cases it’s just a few minutes if settling in chain. The Lightning network built on top of bitcoin is a nice game changer in that it processes transactions instantly for fractions of a penny in cost. It’s still pretty new but adoption of LN is growing ridiculously fast

I don’t care about crypto.

But I also just don’t get it. If I’m a business owner, why should I take it? I sell a $10k car on Friday and take bitcoin. Before I can do something with the bitcoin, the value of bitcoin drops 10% overnight or the next day. I’d lose my arse assuming all the risk of value there.

Guess you can argue the value of the dollar due to inflation can lose value too but not that quickly and not that dramatic of a shift.

Really, for the crypto guys on here, what is your end game? What is trying to be accomplished by holding crypto, especially outside of btc? Not being a smart arse, just curious as to your why and your end game with it?

The scalability problem is being worked on, but not all blockchain are that slow.

Many to most crypto projects don’t have a token that’s intended to be used like bitcoin. The token exists to incentivize usage and security within a network.

I believe some of these projects will be very successful (think Google) and early participation in the network via token ownership will pay large dividends in the future. A lot of people reference the dot com boom…plenty lost their arse, but some made the correct bets that paid off handsomely. That’s pretty much where I’m at.

Fair enough. Though it may be more acurate to say I don't believe in the bullshite.

lol. no. You just don't even understand the most basic principles of Bitcoin or ETH. At least have enough respect for others in this group and try to educate yourself before opening your mouth.

You add nothing to the discussion.

He never has added anything of value. He’s just hoping and praying crypto fails so in his head he can justify not investing. He won’t admit it but watching people make money in it is killing him inside. He doesn’t want to take the time to learn so he just calls it bullshite. There are a lot like him.

PulseChain transactions are nearly as fast as you can click. Just saying.

You guys really need to learn about Ethereum. It's essentially a decentralized Apple app store with tons of apps on it. The Ethereum token is the currency used to utilize the network.

But you add nothing to the conversation with comments like this

Explain to us all why it makes sense for someone to accept a currency, any currency, that has potential to drop in value as quickly as bitcoin does…

We’re waiting….

Because they like using the network for the thousands of apps on the network.
