It's a shame MIA and FLL are like 10 miles over the 4,500 point mark.
It really is. Very annoying considering options from MSY aren't great.

shite . 320k? That's pretty good. Getting close to booking time, right? I've seen Singapore Suites has pretty good availability a year out on the LAX-NRT-SIN route 92.5k points. Aren't y'all doing Kuala Lumpur?
Cambodia (Angkor Wat) to Bangkok, then down to the beaches. Booking in February and am at 284,000 right now. We aren't taking the "honeymoon" until 9 months after wedding. Probably just do a small domestic trip to the West/Northwest this summer.
I think I'm all in using United Star Alliance partners instead of Krisflyer. That partner wasn't added until I was already over 100k into United and since I'm generating some serious points right now with the Inks, didn't like them sitting on Chase's end.

I hear ya. That would be pretty damn upsetting to get that many swiped from your account. I'd have to go home for the day and drink that away.

Looks like I'll be using my AA points for a trip to Italy next year. First Class there and back for two on British Airways for 270000 miles. Flying in to Milan and back from Rome. Flights are $$$$ one way so it looks like I'm getting great value for my points.

Nice. After seeing pics of Cinque Terre I really need to get to Italy soon.

Italy booked. Fly in to Venice and out of Rome. 225000 miles total.
Time to start checking out hotels. We're staying at a B&B in Tuscany with friends.

Can you make the purchase online with the discover?
So you can buy the black friday deals and discover will price match for you? Is that real?

Yup, that's the thought process. I kinda like the idea of getting the 5% bonus for purchasing online and then getting discover to price match the black friday deals. However, I have a feeling that my 5% in rewards from the original purchase would be clawed back after the price match.

Venice has some really nice "boutique" hotels that are represented by the major brands, if you're looking to go the points route. Italy is on my short list, so I've looked in to it a bit. Outside of Venice/Rome I've found I'll probably go B&B.
Have you looked?
I've got SPG points earmarked for LINK. Rooms routinely go for >$500 and come out to 16k points/night for 5 nights.

Looks like I'll be getting the Freedom finally

Damn, so it looks like Korean Air was pulled from Chase UR without notice. That is scary. I had considered transferring points over to them at one point and they would have been stuck if I had.
Valuable lesson here

Is this a certain Discover card?

I get your point but chase isn't discontinuing partners with its major partners any time soon I wouldn't imagine.
But you could always transfer points from spg or their branded card if you were stuck with a shortage of Korean air.

There is also a westin excelsior in Florence right along the river with a great roof top bar. I am not sure of anything that transfers to westin, but Florence is an easy stopping point between Venice and Rome if traveling by train. I am somewhat partial to Florence though.
If you are going to be in Tuscany with a car, I can't reccomend a meal at Dario Cechinis restaurant "solociccia" enough. It is in panzano, Chianti.

Ya the rest should be fine. I was just reading about a guy who said he transferred points for himself for his honeymoon, then went to do his wife's and it crapped out. Talk about terrible timing

Hah. Yeah that's a fail.
