I originally was too. There are only a few places I go that don't accept it. Strawns, Johnny's Pizza, and Sam's Club.

Know you guys get this a lot, but need some advice fore a credit card. I'm 23 and am going to be doing a lot of corporate travel over the next 6 months (once a week). Lots of it will be reimbursed after being fronted on my dime. Don't want to be locked into a single airline or hotel, so looking for something versatile and flexible. Look to use rewards for travel and hotel stays all over the world. Know a lot of you guys are CSP advocates, but want to get as much advice as possible.

Edit: Have the Delta Amex and Discover Student card.

You're in a sweet spot. I have the same set up. Just keep switching cards ALL the time. I'd start with the CSP and use that for 3-6 months. Then move over to the southwest card.

After that, just wait for the best deals. I just destroyed the new delta 50,000 mile sign up bonus after raping them on a 40,000 bonus last year.

ALWAYS PAY YOUR CARD IN FULL EVERY MONTH. I pay mine off twice a month just to be 100% sure (overkill).

Southwest card should only be used for southwest flights.

It would be wise to get a branded card from the airlines and hotels you want to try and use most often. If you're going to be bouncing all over the place the CSP is a good option.

Can't do this anymore. Once you get a bonus for an Amex card you cannot get another bonus for the same brand Amex card ever again.

I would suggest flying the same airline if you can. The FF loyalty pays dividends

ETA: If you can get the 100k platinum Amex offer I'd go with that. The points are very versatile and you can get $200 back in airline credits, TSA pre-check free, and access to airline clubs

How do I get this offer? I've got a great income, I use CC a TON, and my credit score is in the high 700s. You would think they would be beating down my door. What can I do?

Are you "Opted In" for credit card offers? If you aren't receiving all that junk mail, then you aren't, and you need to be.

Have you called and asked if they'd honor it? Best suggestion is to put everything you can on your current Amex for a year

I haven't gotten one but I only put about 50k a year on mine

Is that the trick for getting the Amex Plat offer? You need to spend a lot on your current Amex? I'm like you with my Amex right now, but I can bump it up a bit if it would help me get that 100k offer

I don't know if it's "the trick" but it certainly helps

Are there any credit cards that give an unlimited 2% + cash back with no rotating categories or annual fee? I currently have a Chase Freedom card but I want an additional card as a backup and something to use for my Loyal3 deposits. I would prefer something other than a Visa if possible. I know Fidelity has one but I would rather have something else if possible. I don't care about travel and I will apply the cash back to my bill.

Thanks Bacon. Don't know if I like that you have to wait until you pay your balance to get the other 1%. I guess if you pay the balance off every month it doesn't matter.

It's a targeted offer. The standard offer is usually 40k points.

I got 50K MR points a few months ago for upgrading my PR Gold to Platinum. My GF just got the 100K targeted offer and I know it has nothing to do with how much she spends bc she spends maybe ~$5k annually on a CC.

Wife has a cc with meh rewards and I have never had a cc. Never bothered to get one. Other than a Barclays card for a Mac I bought.

Which ones would be good starters for each of us to get.
