Just saw Amex Gold is ending their 100 airline credit Dec 31 of next year, wonder what they will do to replace it

I believe with an Uber credit. They made the airline credit a pain to redeem, which is typical for Amex, so this change would work for me. So Gold will now have Grubhub and Uber credits IIRC.

My wife has Gold and Plat and I just got the 100k Plat offer. She received a Gold referral option that gives her 30k and me a 60k sign up bonus for Gold so I'll do that soon and then consolidate.

Any of you smart guys know if this is a good deal?

BOA Cash Rewards

We usually put around 5k a month on our current card and pay it off every month. We hardly ever travel, so I'm not interested in travel points if that's still a thing.

Finally ready to get a few new cards now that I've waited out my 5/24.

What's the best value right now? Should I go CSP? I had CSR previously and downgraded it to Freedom Unlimited 2+ years ago. I think that means I would be eligible for the sign up bonus again.

No business owner, but willing to go for the business cards if it is still as easy as it was to get approved a couple years back...

They were getting stale.

48 months from when you received the bonus. Be careful on that one.

Yup on all Chase products, its when you actually achieve the bonus. So may be 1-2 months after your application date.

Has anyone ever had issues with chase travel rewards? I made a hotel reservation with my points and they cancelled it the day before. I immediately called and they said they would do an investigation and get back to me within 4 days. In the meantime they booked me a room at another property which looks shittier and yet costs me more points due to it being so last minute. I'm pretty pissed about it all and hoping they will make it right but it's ridiculous that we can't stay at our original reservation as it was a hotel we were really looking forward to

Chase customer service has been on a steady decline since getting overwhelmed with the success of the CSR. Unfortunately AMEX points on purchases and redemption suck too bad to completely switch over.

I used a few hundred K points using the 1.5x bonus for Pay yourself Back.

Heads up for the Amex Platinum people. There is a $50 back when you spend atleast $50 at Best Buy. Supposedly there is one for Home Depot too but I’m not seeing that one. And you can get the credit twice at each place. There is also a new PayPal $30/month credit through June.

The Dell $100 when you spend $100 expires this month as well.

All in, that’s $480 in credit.

I got the BB, HD. Also got HomeChef 50 off 50 and Wine Insiders 30 off 30, as well as $50 off $250 at Instacart. $50 Saks credit and $200 airline reset on the 1st as well. Was thinking about cancelling but looks like I'll get more than enough value in '21.

Are you doing the book Southwest and cancel method to get your credit?

Amex is so damn annoying making things more difficult than they need to be.

Usually do that incidentally over the year with companion pass. I booked taxes on award flight to SJD on the 1st $111 and haven't gotten the credit yet. Might have to be under $100 to trigger but not exactly something I want to ask customer service about.

Ya I've noticed it trigger on taxes and also when I've applied a SW GC to a flight and there was remainder. So try that if you need to.

Looking into getting the Sapphire Preferred card and came across this.

Does this mean that the 60,000 point new card member bonus after spending $4000 in 3 months won't be able to redeem until 48 months?

No. It means if you have received bonus on any Sapphire card in the last 48 months you are not eligible to receive until time has passed.

Thanks for the clarification. Seems like a pretty decent card. Looking for something to replace my delta Amex with since I no longer live in Atlanta and fly different airlines now.
