Not just this thread. Literally everyone who got the CSR can't stop talking about this I thought it was just me because I was (am) sour for not being able to get it

I have seen it discussed ad nauseam in multiple threads... people are very concerned about when they will have their metal cards

I know, and I don't understand why they care so much

I got a plastic one, my wife got the metal one. The only difference is the material and that the front of her card has nothing on it but the Visa logo, her card information is on the back.

I ordered mine before her, but I haven't received a metal card yet. I guess it will get here when it gets here.

I don't care about the material of the card as long as it works. Just want the bonus and perks from the card.

I think it is a status symbol. Same rationale as to why people love some premier AMEX products

Yeah, you get the card for what it can do for you. Why would a adult give a shite what the card looks like and what it's made of?

I get that it doesn't make a difference. However if you have used the CSP for some time, the plastic card feels cheap. I know it's irrational.

Supposedly the numbers on the back of the card prevent point of sale fraud.

If that were the case, all cards would be that way

Food for thought for those looking to buy a new iPhone

If you buy through your carrier with Chase Ink, you get 5x on the phone. Glad I remembered that before ordering from the Apple Store

I finally convinced my parents to get the CSR...all this time they were using an LSU alumni card that got them ZERO rewards. I had no clue.

The cards look and feel pretty bad arse. Hopefully they have this offer come January so I can sign up for it and be able to use the sign up bonus.

My annual fee is coming up on my CSP, what should I downgrade it to? I'm gonna transfer the points to my CSR.

Also, I still have my Citi Presige but no longer use it. Any reason to keep it or should I cancel? I have no TYPs

Regular Freedom if you think you can maximize the rotating categories, or else Freedom Unlimited.

Can you use the $250 annual air credit? If yes, then can you use the 4th night free benefit enough to cover the $200 AF leftover? If yes - keep it. If not - get rid.

When we travel we are never in one place more than 2-3 days so that benefit is useless for me.

Plus, I am headed back to business school next year and so my income is about to stop.

Not looking forward to student loans

I'd maybe keep mine if I used the 4th night free feature. I am not happy with the deval they did though. I'm actually playing a free round of golf on Tuesday and then cancelling the card the next day as that's my 1 year anniversary . But the removal of golf, the full 4th night with taxes, the redemption, etc says no thanks to me for $450.

Now, the CSR is what I really want. After Dec 15th when I pass 2 years on my Red Aviator I will have 5 cards at that point. I take it Chase will still decline me, right? If so, my next card to drop off the 24 will be in May. I hope they still have the current offer till then, what do you think?

Oh yea, one other question AK, I just cancelled my UA last week but today I received my free Club passes as I'm sure they were already sent. Can I still use those?

Yes you can use the passes.

I'm not sure if the offer will be around in May. Honestly, if you can do ink MS, losing 100k points here isn't the end of the world. I just bit the bullet and upgraded my CSP.

So much work to do MS though

Didn't you mention I can get 5x from gift cards from eBay before? I'm looking to get Chevron/Shell/76 gas cards. Just looked on Chase portal with OD and Staples and they don't have gas cards online that I saw. I just want to buy $500 worth every few months. Let me know best way to do that if you don't mind, thanks.

I don't see any gas ones on there. I guess I'll just have to go buy in store $50 at a time. Lat time I bought 10, but it would be nice to get a $500 card or even $200 cards.

My local (Baton Rouge) Office Depot stopped carrying gas gift cards. It was a very sad day for me when I noticed that.

I stopped by Office Max yesterday and they had none. Maybe that's across the board. shite.
