Hey Gene, I just got my Freedom Unlimited Card today in the mail, not sure what took so long, so now I have the sapphire reserve, the JPM reserve, the freedom unlimited, and my sams discover card. What is the best way to utilize this combination of cards. When I do my business shopping and then when I do personal spending like dining, travel, etc

So AK can probably give the perfect breakdown but I'll give direction.
Given your business tracking needs, it makes sense to exclusively use your Chase FreeU card for business purchases.
Easy "Which Card to Use" guide
-Sams Club/Business Expenses: Freedom Unlimited
-Restaurants/Travel: JPM Reserve/Chase Sapphire Reserve
-Daily Spend: Probably JPMR / CSR
If you spend $5+mil on the Freedom U and book travel through CSR portal, you will have >$100k in travel per year

I would put daily, unbonused spend on Freedom Unlimited as well for the extra 0.5x.
Also - Freedom card usually comes with a lower CL. You can easily move around credit from one card account to the other if thats the case with yours as well. I would make Freedom Unlimted my highest CL because you will be spending so much on it.

thanks for the heads up, yea was going to mention the credit limit they gave me which was $5000 isnt sufficient at all, not sure how the credit limits work but my sapphire reserve has $39k limit and the JPM one is $79k. So I have no clue how these limits are set or whatever but the sams card has a low limit as well $30k or so but I usually just pay it off in store with a check every few days. I dont really think there are any cards out there, maybe amex, that will give you enough credit to go a whole month without paying haha.

I need to cancel my Amex platinum, but I haven't spent the points yet. I'm fine with transferring them all to Delta.
Is there any way for Amex to claw back those transfered points?

The points guy has an app that will tell you what to use based on where you are at
You have to enter your card types

You probably can call in and have them Move CL from the -CSR etc to the Free U
Just tell them you have a big purchase you'd rather use the Free U for and chase already provided that anoint for you

Ok I need some help, I am trying to get to Melbourne Australia at the end of feb for two weeks. Flights are about 1500/1600 in economy. But trying to find the best way to maximize my points.
I have 110k chase UR, 40k American miles, and 50k SPG points.
I don't need a hotel or anything but am looking for a way to maybe get one leg of the trip in business (preferably the back end). Obviously then chase UR points are enough for the RT ticket in coach straight up but trying to see if anyone has any insight in to ways I can move the points around the maximize them.
Thanks folks.

Simple - transfer 110K UR to UA. Econ there is 40K, Biz back is 70K. You can build in a stopover in NZ since your Air NZ flight will stop in Auckland.
Another option is to transfer 20K SPG points to 25K AA and use 72.5K AA to fly Qantas DFW-SYD direct. The biz is in the upper section of the plane which is pretty cool.
So you need to pick between having the ability to have a stopover with UA miles, or flying a better J product and fly the return leg with OW. Me, personally, would go with the stopover but I don't really care about J/F that much.
One last (and probably my favorite) option would be to get the best of both worlds. Use 40K AS miles (transferred from SPG) to fly Fiji Airways to Australia via Nadi. AS allows stopovers on one ways so you can stopover in Fiji for as long as you want and continue on to Australia. Then fly Qantas back using AA miles.
Search Engines:
1) UA,Air NZ on united.com
2) Qantas,AA,Fiji on Alasakaair.com

PSA for Ink cardholders:
Office Depot has $15 credit on visa gift cards for $300 buy.
$30 for purchase of 3 $200 cards. Good to 10/15

~$9.40 profit per $600 and ~3,000 points.
There seems to be no limit to how many you can do. Although it says max 2 per customer per day, some friendly (oblivious) stores will allow 2-3 transactions. Also - you can go to multiple stores to do the same.
Just did $2,400 between yesterday and so far today. Its a breeze. Since they are GCM VGCs, easiest to liquidate as well.

Easy. Did $1200 at College store earlier. Gonna hit another one on the way home. What's the easist way to liquidate?

$1,000 MO at WM. Unless you have Serve/Bluebird.
Posted on 10/12/16 at 2:27 pm to AmeriKop45
WM will split transaction over several cards without much grief?
Posted on 10/12/16 at 3:28 pm to fatboydave
Yeah. Up to 4 no problem. Make sure you include the 70c fee in that 4 swipe limit or pay cash.

Thanks man, not having any luck with one ways from dfw to Sydney/Melbourne or vice versa in business using points (outside of standard awards that are double the points of a saver award).
Posted on 10/13/16 at 1:13 pm to reb13
Idk when you're planning to go but you'd need to do this well in advance. Especially with Qantas and Air NZ who are both stingy with award space. Even more so in J/F

First try using multiple vcg at walmat didn't work. Kept getting declined. I told the cashier to separate into 2 cards with $200 each with .70 cash. Is it cashier error or did o screw up asking the wrong way?
Posted on 10/13/16 at 3:05 pm to fatboydave
What was the error? Were you trying to buy a $400 MO?
This is what I say: "I want to buy a $1,000 Money order. I'd like to do a split tender." Then they ask me - "How much on the first one?" - and I just go from there.
