Anyways, Bangkok so happened to be on there last night, and I happened to run into a video showing True Love Cafe where they have dogs you can pet and stuff.
Now its on the itinerary for my wife.
Oh that does sound fun

just fight the potential jetlag to do it.
Yeah no way to really plan for it. I can't figure out a rhyme or reason, but it doesn't always get me. I can usually coffee through it, but the jetlag coming back will usually kick my arse.

And points + cash.

Checking out the Alaska site for domestic flights this morning. I think they might have to be the best Airline points out there.
They partner w/ AA and Delta plus their own awards, so you basically get 3 airlines award charts. You can't switch carriers on different legs though. You can fly AA to DFW then Alaska to Seattle or something, but you can't mix and match AA and Delta.

Ya, we flew to India and had zero problems.
Flew to Spain last December and it never really went away. We didn't feel bad, but we napped a lot.
Looking at Bangkok being exactly 12 hours from us, and my usual sleep patterns, I'm anticipating it not being that difficult to switch over as I can easily stay up to about 5AM our time on the plane, which is 5PM their time to get right.
Maybe it is easier to switch 12 hours than 6 to 8 for Europe?

You are correct, my card still says ISIS on it.
Coming back from India was actually "fun" in a way. We would go to bed about 8PM and wake up around 4AM. Neither of us are early risers. We would end up just hanging out in bed for 4 hours or so until we had to go to work

One VIP
Thanks...haven't seen that one before. I'm assuming I can buy temp card in stores? Also, what is that $3.95 cash reload fee. Do you have to pay that each time you load a vgc?

The Kauai Hyatt is a great property and some great golf next door.
This seems to be the consensus for best Hyatt in Hawaii.

There's a Hyatt in Waikiki 2 miles from where I live
Might split the trip between the 2. We shall see.

The Kauai Hyatt is great. The Italian restaurant on property is very good.
The Andaz in Maui is very nice as well. We didn't stay there but walked around the property to check it out and it's in tip top shape too.

Question for the gurus...
I'm about to make a run at the companion pass. I just pulled a credit report and did a simulation to see how much adding a card would effect my score and it says +/- 5pts, so really nothing... Although, it would be twice that since I am adding two cards.
However, my concern was since I just did the Amex Platinum back in Sept, that I would have a hard pull on my score and that would be a total of 4 for the year once I added these two... However, my Amex platinum card isn't showing that there was every a pull on my score
Would Amex have just used my Amex Blue Card account history and their own "fico" scoring they provide to justify me getting the platinum??? Thats the only explanation I can think of.

Which bureau did you pull? There are three and Amex may have pulled a different one.

The is Equifax's FICO score...
And I thought all bureaus had to report between each other in regards to hits?
Posted on 12/19/15 at 2:30 pm to Lsut81
Nope. Most credit cards only pull one of Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 2:31 pm to Lsut81
When you apply for credit, a credit issuer can pull from any 1 of the 3 credit bureaus or all 3. That is up to them. In that situation, an inquiry may show up on one report and not another. Those inquiries aren't required to be shared across the different bureau reports. Your reports are not going to match 100% for this reason.
