Nope, the premier and the plus. Both have 50k offers on then for 2k spend.
Ewww, you may not have much luck getting both of those approved by Chase, at least not immediately back to back.
If you never had a Chase Business card, I'd just pull for one of those and connect it to the same SW account as the personal.
Of course, your personal SW card should use the Plus offer, since that is less money $69, for the same points.

I'd have a month or two to get the other.
But I've read the only push back is if you have a bunch of chase products.

What is the requirement for a business?

You book your flight then call the companion hotline and tell them your companion is going and you pay a $10 fee or something.
Oh it's even easier than that. You click "add companion" next to your booked flight, pay $5.20 for domestic leg, and hit submit.
Taking my wife to cabo next week and paid 10k points for one way and 18k back for my flights. Added her for taxes only.

Have an idea to start one. Literally. That's it.

That is incredible. Does it matter how long it takes you to hit the companion level or do you need to get to it in a certain amount of time before it resets?

Is that how you got yours? How difficult to combine to personal to get the pts?
Posted on 12/15/15 at 7:48 pm to TigerTatorTots
Every year you have to hit 110,000 points to get it. Like mentioned earlier once obtained its good for that current year and all of the next.

What f it takes me 3 years to hit 110,000? Do you have to get 110,000 within a year?

Regarding SW companion level
So if I get 50K from the signup, earn about 25K from annual spend, I can cap off by transferring hotel points to get to the 110,000 mark. This seems too easy
Does Marriott or IHG allow transfer to SW?
ETA: I see Marriott would be 70,000 points for 25,000 SW points

In addition to the 50,000 bonus points for signup, you earn points towards the companion pass by flying and through credit card spend. Transfers into Southwest from Chase Ultimate Rewards do not count. However, transfers from hotel programs do. So moving points from Chase to Hyatt to Southwest would do the trick.

Yes. I got The personal plus and the premier biz. I applied for both in December 2014. Spent $10k in January 2015 and have had companion pass from feb 2015 thru Dec 2016. I've spent close to 150 SW points since ive had it which means I've gotten 150k points worth of flights free on top of my 150k SW points i already had.
You can get more value out of other airline points by flying premium cabins, but you can't come close the the "real" value that you get by adding a companion for free on 15 one way SW flights.
You can also change your companion up to 3x per year. Last March I switched my companion from my wife to a buddy and flew him to Denver for free to go snow boarding and switched back to my wife. This year I'm doing the same to fly a buddy for free to Milwaukee for Green Bay game. Pretty awesome perk.

Yep. There are several ways to get the points, and some good blog articles about it, but I'm on my phone so not linking.
The biz + personal is the easiest route though.

First 2 quarters should be money in the bank and I usually hit restaurants 1,500 as well. I'll be disappointed if we lose Amazon Q4 though.
Should get a nice checking account bonus this year maxing out all 4 quarters and maxing out Amazon at 10%.
Isn't that going away after this year?

I believe it should end once 2015 closes but I may have the timing wrong.
The year is set up quite nicely. I should have 30k from Amazon from this year, plus at least another 30k from those 3 quarters. Hard to focus on diversifying points when you can earn UR at those rates.
It would suck if Amazon wasn't q4, but if I remember right they almost never show Q4 on this and that didn't stop Amazon from being listed.
Here's a question: is OpenTable counted as a restaurant? I can usually get close to maxing out 1 freedom at restaurants but not two.

What rewards do you get for each of those quarters? Double points or cash back?
Posted on 12/16/15 at 10:09 am to TigerTatorTots
5x cash back/points on Freedom.
However, if you have Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Plus, you can travel the points earned from the Freedom to the Sapphire or Ink Plus, then to airlines.
Freedom is just a cash back card on its own but when coupled with the above cards it becomes much more. Hence, why we get all excited about Chase Freedom categories

Do you pay through Opentable? I didn't know you could do that.
Same here. My wife usually gets around $400-$500 on hers, which isn't bad, and I usually max mine out

Oh wow...so ideally, one would need to get Freedom, take advantage of the categories, then get Sapphire, transfer freedom to sapphire, then transfer sapphire to airlines? 5 airline points per dollar is amazing

Potentially great news from an SPG insider:
quote:
I would place bets with 100% certainty that they will give advance warning of the transfer. What I am hopeful of is some innovation in the couple years prior to merging programs. I don’t expect the programs merging until at least end of 2017 if not 2018.
